Rent a kayak at the Dana Point Marina to explore the inner channels and also go out on the ocean!

Great way to explore the area while getting a bit of exercise. Parking is rather limited and the water can be a little dirty, but it's a pretty area. There are many beautiful homes to admire, as well as funny boat names to take note of.

Bring some drinking water. Even though you're surrounded by water, you'll want some you can actually drink!

Want to exercise? Work as hard as you want as you paddle around the harbor. Great views.

Kayaks On the Water is located in Long Beach. Upon arriving, they asked if my entire party was there. They weren't, so he asked if I could wait. Not a problem. They wanted us to watch the safety video together. Under no circumstances will they rent to you if you can't swim in deep water. Not to mention you sign over all liability. So you are responsible for the kayak, paddle, and your life. Done. The good thing is, rentals are $9/hr (cash) or $10/hr (when paying with a credit card). You pay a prorated amount for every minute you go over. So if you were on the water for 1.5 hours you pay for 1.5 hours not 2. Pretty awesome. The water was mostly calm on the day we went and we kayaked pretty far. Luckily we had the wherewithal to paddle back before we made our way to open water. Definitely keep an eye out for your surroundings, don't panic, and wear a lot of sunscreen. It was fun and I'd recommend it.

This was such a great place to go kayaking! I had a lot of fun with my friends. You rent out a kayak and can either get a single or a double. I recommend that you share a double with someone because it is much more fun that way. The whole kayaking trip takes about one hour. It depends on how fast you can row, but the point isn't really to race. It's to enjoy the experience! Make sure you're careful, so that you don't flip over. Although this doesn't happen often, it definitely does happen to some people. Now with summer approaching, kayaking should be on your to-do list!

Great deal for kayaking

Group rate $6 per person per hour or individual rate $9 per person per hour.

Call ahead to make RSVPs.

Great for groups & service is good.

You get to kayak / paddle board around the canals & area.

Great thing to do on the weekends. =)

I've been to the Los Alamitos bay twice for kayaking and the service here has always been excellent. I'm not sure if they increased the price but they charge each person $9/hr now. They start off by showing you a video of rules that you must comply with, then they give you life vests and paddles and send you on your way kayaking. I love kayaking in the Naples Canal where you can check out all the homes that hardly anyone can afford and the high-end yachts parked right in front of these homes. The whole experience makes you feel like you are on an episode of million dollar homes :P.
