Great place for dogs to enjoy the beach. A bit small but still nice.

As a person from a state of abundant lakes and mountains, I have missed numerous opportunities to take my dog to somewhere he can swim and play in the water. My Labrador doesn't actually "swim", but instead loves to be able to run in and out of the water with other dogs. This beach area is quite large - one of the largest dog parks in the west side of the general LA area. Be warned - it does not have an actual containing fence, but rather cones on the ground to show the bounds of the area. I did not have any issues with this, but it did surprise me when I first arrived. This dog beach area is located directly off of the main paved trail that runs North to South on the sand. It's a shame that dogs are banned on LA beaches - I'm so thankful for Rosie's Dog Beach!

Who knew that there was a dog beach here?! I certainly didn't! I was given an address and this was where I ended up. I actually didn't know that there were parking meters since I never turned into the lot. Plenty of free street parking on a Wednesday evening.

Lots of cute pups everywhere. My 4-legged doggy buddy had a grand time playing fetch on the sand, scoping out other dogs, and exploring "interesting" things in the sand, one of which is a whole watermelon half buried in the sand!

Friendly dogs and friendly owners everywhere. People said hi and made conversation. This place is also great for watching sunsets. Not sure about weekends, but during the weeknights, mostly locals and their dogs. I shall be back even though I don't own a dog. Anyone need a dog-sitter?!

A little fun under the California sun, romping and pouncing, swimming and catching...so much to do, so much to sniff, the pitter-pattering paws chasing the rocketing tennis balls towards the ocean, it felt like it's a priced treasure attracting all the happy pooches to chase that floating neon ball against the thrashing waves...It's just one of those days, a Sunday for the dogs.

I am just delighted and so happy to have found this place, as someone who has some pretty active furry kids, nothing beats a day at the beach to diffuse some of their very active high energy, Rosie's Dog Beach is such a nice find and I couldn't be more happier for a beach sanctuary for the furry kind.

Parking is a plenty, and the peeps are generally nice, it's really great to see a long stretch of shoreline with happy pooches and their hoomans mingling. Doggie bags stations (waste bags) and trash bins are scattered in the dog beach's perimeter, I'm happy to say that most are very responsible to look after their dogs and clean-up when necessary.

I give high marks and Kudos to Rosie's Dog Beach for establishing such a fun under the California sun haven for our furry pooches. Any day at the beach with my furry companion is a good day. Thank goodness for a place such as Rosie's!!

I brought my Maltese, Kuma, to this dog beach for my friend's birthday. It was his first time at a beach and although he was scared of the water, I think he had a great time.

The beach itself is very clean, although I'm sure the sand is completely soaked in a lot of dog urine. People are very good at cleaning up after their dogs and pretty much all the dogs are well behaved.

You can have your dog off leash as long as you stay in the orange cone area. There are dogs of all breeds and sizes there.

There is a parking lot but I'm not sure if you have to pay or not. I parked right out on the street. There was plenty of street parking even on a Saturday.

Love taking the dogs here, or even just people and dog watching. The Huntington Beach dog beach is a bit more dog friendly and larger, but this location is more like a normal beach and doesn't require hiking up and down a hill. However, the lack of fences means dogs can easily run out of the designated dog area, so owners must be very cautious.

Love to bring the pup out to play with his furry friends. It's a nice beach for dogs because Long Beach doesn't really have big waves. Just be careful as there is no fence keeping your dog out of the "people beach" sections.
