with Short Ribs omg so good! My favorite French dip to date! My friend had the steak sandwich also pretty good, the sandwich comes with candied bacon, caramelized onions, and this tasty arugula & cilantro spread. Tips: Park on the street after 8pm or you can park in the garage with validation. Add the Baked then Fried Potatoes for $3 to your sandwich. Happy Hour is 4:30-6:30!

This place has the BEST salads and pizzas. The quinoa salad is amazing. They also have a great happy hour with amazing sangria!

Did you know that this is the kitchen for Mendocino Farms (in the same plaza)!? Which explains why both have such yummy food. Not to mention they have a good happy hour (4-630).

This place is the spot to go to for happy hour specials! It's usually pretty busy during the middle day because of their location in the financial district. They have great mixed drinks and you must try their tacos!

I think I had huge expectations for Blue Cow because I absolutely trust the owner of Mendocino Farm (same owner with the same great sandwiches).

The food was generally good, but either a little too salty, a little too saucy, or too sweet. Blue Cow Kitchen's service is top notch and decor is quite modern.

What I consumed:
- The Country Fried Chicken Rolls - Tasty slaw in these chicken rolls and decently seasoned fried chicken in uninspired bread rolls. Yes, not too far a stretch of mini chicken sandwich from a certain fast food colonel.. :-X

- Pink Eggs & Ham - Beet-marinated deviled eggs with bacon, really good! Food should always be colored pink with beets, just sayin'.

- Duck wings - Flavorful & pretty generous serving, but salty

- Pork Belly banh minis - Taco-like pork belly in crepe folds. The crepe got really
soggy in seconds and there was so much slaw sauce on the bottom to make it a too saucy/difficult to eat. I'm still dreaming about my experience @ eating Black Hogg's pork belly tacos, which was freakin' fantastic and this doesn't compare.

- Lamb lavish - Probably my favorite thing that night, so glad we decided to finish off with this dish. Lamb and picked peppers were wrapped flat bread, tzatziki sauce dripped with every bite.

I also rarely ever order cocktails (beer&wine only gal), but decided to get the Fortified Lemonade, a vodka drink. I noticed some powder on top and I was notified that it was bee pollen powder, pretty delicious and easy to drink.

I think I would be back to only catch their happy hour, but I wouldn't be back for their regular priced items. I'll stick to Mendocino Farms

Cool atmosphere, great service.

I was so happy with all the food we ordered!
Well first I must say that we were still full from eating at Nonna's Empanadas right before we came here, so we just got snacks and drinks.

Peaches, Burrata & Ham: This was very light and very good. It was my first time eating burrata and it tasted kind of like mozzarella. That and the ham, the firm peaches and crunchy bread complimented each other well.

Grilled corn: 3 pieces for 6 dollars. The corn was smaller than I expected, but it was nicely sweet, sprinkled with cheese and spices, and a tiny bit of heat.

Short rib poutine: I believe poutine is usually french fries, gravy and cheese. So when I did not see fries or potatoes in the description, I wasn't sure what to expect., just a lump of meat I guess. This was actually served with chunks of potato. You can really taste the cheese in this dish. Cheese is awesome!

Cherry Ricky soda: There's vodka in this drink but I couldn't taste it. It was good though.

Bday girl got a butter cake bday dessert with strawberries and whipped cream. It was buttery and really good, sweet on the edges. We were all saving our stomachs to get dessert at the Pie Hole after, but on a regular day I would've devoured that butter cake.

**HAPPY AS A BLUE (FAT) COW**

Parking Options:
Valet
Garage (2 hour validation)
Meter ($4 an hour)

We decided to do park across the street via meter.

The restaurant had a nice vibe with modern-country-farm decor.

Funky, but definitely cool.

We sat on a couch with pillows and felt cozy.

LOVED.

ORDERED:

**RUM MANHATTAN ($9) - WINNER
Drink was damn good. I love Manhattans and this one KILLED it. The aged rum, coffee liqueur, punt y mes vermouth, chocolate porter bitters, and orange peel was perfect. The coffee aftertaste won me over.

**ROOTS AND KALE CAESAR ($10) - WINNER
Instead of their infamous fries, we opted for the salad. The shaved root vegetables, kale, parmesan, croutons & Josh's better caesar dressing tasted farm fresh. The dressing was sublime.

**FRENCH DIP ($16) - WINNER
I haven't had French Dips in awhile and this one was super tasty. Loved the braised short rib, cave aged gruyere & roasted mushrooms on Dolce Forno soft roll with horseradish crème fraiche & caramelized onion au jus! OMG! Simply divine! More, please. Good portion, too.

**GOOEY CAKE ($5)
It was simple and fresh. Just the way I liked it. A few berries and fresh creme on top. Good ending to a very satisfying meal.

Service was friendly and attentive.

Prices were very reasonable ($60 for 2).

HAPPY as a BLUE COW.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND in DTLA.
