Delicious food but not for the finicky eaters. Think of duck tacos, carnitas fat butter, rabbit stew ...

Pricey tapas, but none of the dishes we got were disappointing. Best to eat here with at least 4 people so you can try more options in the menu.

4 dishes plus an order of corn tortilla, were enough to fill 3 of us up during dinner.

We got the following:
1. Lamb neck tamales: It wasn't gamey at all. It was really yummy, but not sure if it's worth ordering again for the price. Maybe I had higher expectations because this is supposedly the most popular dish.
2. Caracoles: Snails, mushroom, mole verde and stinging nettle. The dish was savory and small. Serves about 4 snails. It was savory.
3. Heirloom corn tortilla: Quality tortilla! You can tell they're not the kind you'll get from a taco truck.
4. Camote: Okinawan sweet potato, pig tail, trompa, chile de adrbol and verjus. My favorite dish!!! If you can handle spiciness then this is worth getting. The sweetness from the sweet potato and the savoriness from the pig tail with a kick of spiciness balances out so well! This is definitely a unique flavor I won't forget! The server said this was LA mags dish of the year in 2015.
5. Chicharon with corn tortillas: My second favorite dish. We barely finished it because the dish was pretty big and we were full from snacking on corn tortillas. The sauce was amazing and the meat had a lot of fatty goodness.

Overall it was a great experience. I would most likely come back for more. Server was great and the food came out quickly.

Parking: I think it's $7-8 valet. Free street parking after 8pm. Free all day on Sunday's

"Family style" portions, meaning the portions are large enough to share together with a very tasty selection of dishes make for a great dining experience. Our service was also attentive without being distracting.

Broken Spanish opened up a few months ago in place of Rivera in DTLA. Their menu is focused on upscale Spanish fusion tapas. Some of my favorite dishes were the rebanada, camote and the quesadilla. I tried the rabbit and the chicharron as main dishes, but I'm not a fan of rabbit and the chicharron was too heavy for me (more of a personal preference) as both those dishes were a crowd favorite at my table. I loved the desserts - my favorite being the mango panna cotta with a hint of the habanero. The abuelita hot chocolate and the cookies were delicious as well! Overall, excellent but pricey food. Come here with a big group so you can share!

thought I would have enjoyed it more. I am a fan of sedler's food, and have had it many times before, just not at his restaurant. the day we came there were 2 blackouts but that's not their fault. our waiter barely came to serve us. we had to wait so long after we got water just to get our drink orders in that by the time he came we just ordered everything. perhaps it was the blackouts or that we werr doing the dinela menu but the service was poor and we felt ignored. thanks to good company we still enjoyed our time. $5 parking with validation.

Expect to get high quality Latin food at Rivera. Their hand made tortillas with pressed flowers are not only pretty but taste simply amazing.

Rivera is a sexy restaurant/lounge that serves up modern Latin cuisine and cocktails. Their mixologists make some of the best cocktails I've had in LA! A fabulous spot to grab a drink or some small plates if you're downtown.
