Casual Brazilian grill that is a mix of buffet and BBQ. I always go for the leg of lamb which they slice right off the grill.

Line is almost always long, but there's a reason: food is delicious and the locals know it. Tourists/visitors learn quickly.
If you like Mediterranean food, the choices--especially for the meat--are great.
Plates are purchased by the weight of the food, so watch out when loading up all the great-looking dishes.
Worth a try--it's worth the wait in line.

GARLIC CHICKEN. I have tried all of the meats they offer here and the garlic chicken is by far the best. Everytime I even bother to get some other meats, I end up thinking why I wasted room that could've been used for the garlic chicken.

FOOD:
Garlic Chicken - tender, juicy, flavorful. I've had this so many times and it's always been on point. Strangely, I've had their other type of chicken and it wasn't as good.

PARKING:
Farmers Market or Grove Parking; Pampas can only validate Farmers Market parking tickets though.

TIP:
They price your plate by weight and by what you put on it.
Even if you want to eat all meat, put a little salad bar stuff on it so they charge your plate at a lower rate.

This place is located in Farmers Market, so make sure before you leave after paying to give them your validated parking ticket to get 2 free hours!

9.50 per pound of meat and salad bar. We didn't really get much from the salad bar, but we got 2 types of meat. We got the garlic chicken, which as burnt and dry. The sirloin cap was really good, but just too salty for my taste. But this does open up for me to want to try an all you can eat brazilian bbq place!

A different spin on Brazilian BBQ, Cafeteria style and you pay by the pound. That works for me.

Located at the Grove in the LA farmers market. Pampas Grill is a Brazilian charuscaria.

You pick your choice of salad, buffet items and finally the meats. Everything is weighed and priced by the pound.

The first section is where you'll find the salad & vegetable.
I picked some lettuce w/ Italian dressing, eggplant, string beans & salsa at this station. The dressing was so good and made all the salad ingredients pop.

The second section is where the buffet items are laid out. Rice, pasta, fried plantain rolls and the cooked items.
I got:
Catfish stew - very delicious
Chicken Stroganoff - skip it, no good blah

And finally the meat section.
Like a standard charuscaria, they bring the meat in a skewer to you direct from the grill.
I tried:
Garlic Beef - delicious. It's a must get!!
Sausage - another winner.
Pork Loin - they must know me, they gave me a fatty, slightly charred piece, I was in hog heaven yum.
Lamb - over cooked, but the flavor was still good.

At the cashier they weigh your plate. (2.55 lbs) w/ tax about $24. Good for two people, not bad at all.

Ample seating, tables & chairs a plenty for all the restaurants in the farmers market side.

Tip: they validate for parking.

I really like the concept of Pampas Grill. They should have more restaurants like this.
I'll definitely be back.

Brazilian BBQ for the poor!

Not that I have experience with other Brazilian BBQ's, but I hear most of them have those red/green cards and are all you can eat. Located in the iconic Farmer's Market, Pampas is nothing like that. This is more of a Souplantation set up where you go down the cafeteria line, getting your salad, delicious cheese balls, and creamy mashed potatoes. They also have fried plantains in the salad bar if you're into that.

Finally you arrive at the meat section where the people behind the counter ask what type of meat you would like. I usually always get the sirloin cap, medium rare...nomnomnom. The pricing here is all based on weight, so depending on how rich/hungry you're feeling, you can get as much as you want. I usually go lighter on the salad bar and load up on the meat.

A decent sized plate can be around $10 which is awesome considering it's Brazilian BBQ!
