Far Bar is terrific. Cheap-ish, quality drinks with specialties in Japanese Highballs, fun times outside, and desserts that are fried and gooey and amazing. Parking is a toughie but that's just Little Tokyo issues (and I haven't tried the other food).

Good food and drinks in the area of little tokyo, they offer a Japanese fusion with fried foods and bar food. Weekends now have brunch specials. So no full menu to eat from. Still their bacon pork fried rice is the bomb. It has too Sunnyside up eggs that can be liquified into the rice. Two strips of maple bacon and pork inside with the rice.

This is definitely my go-to neighborhood bar. There's 3 different sections, the main bar, the second bar in the back, then the patio. Each time I've come here, there's always a spot available for me and a friend/friends, anytime of the night.

The food is GREAT. There's nothing on the menu that isn't good. I'm a pretty big critic when it comes to sushi and it gets 5 stars. Also order the fries with the wasabi to dip. THE BOMB DOT COM.

Easily one of the better happy hours in downtown. The bar is split into two sections, one of which you can enter through a sketchy looking alley and one like a normal bar. Nice selection of rotating beers on tap and the bartenders are helpful when you feel like trying something new.

If you're in the area this is a nice spot for drinks. I had a great Manhattan.

I have been a fan of Far Bar for years; the wasabi fries, the great drinks and the happy hour. The Old Fashioned here is great and the wasabi fries are my favorite junk food in a two mile radius.

I really liked it here we went on a Tuesday night after 8pm and had a wonderful meal... At first it was hard to find because you have to go down this narrow alley that opens up into this beautiful outside patio with twinkly lights!! The scenery was awesome and the food was amazing!! My friends had drinks margaritas and 1 Manhattan that was a little strong for her.... Rookie!! Really cool spot!!

Normally rude servers is an auto 1 star. But this one literally confessed to having a "shitty" day when Chloe nicely asked how was her day. Can't really force someone to have a good day if they're having a bad one right?

We walked in the patio and I was telling Oliver "that its a pretty patio, let's sit there" only to be promptly interrupted by the server that " sitting is for customers only." I'm like okay we'll order something and Emily said Wasabi fries. The server then says you have to close out your tab inside. Which we already did. I had asked for the "koshihikari" beer she said that beer is for the event inside only. Then I pointed at it on the menu. She rolled her eyes and brought back 4 cups for 5 people. Michelle had mentioned she was in the bathroom when we ordered so maybe that's why she counted four. Oh well hopefully her weekend is better than last night.

Tasty foods
Ming wings was fried perfectly
Oliver chose chose Mac and cheese balls which was fried perfectly.
The best thing is that they have a lot of tasty beers to try so definitely order the flight.

Price is average ranging from 6-30, so choose wisely.

I came here during happy hour to try their green wasabi fries. So good! I just wish they gave us more wasabi. The happy hour prices for beers were great too!

Thanks to my friend for guiding me here after our hearty meal of ramen. Those whiskey selection was unbelievable! Loved it so much, I had to try some Japanese whiskey while I was at it. I ordered Yamazaki single malt neat, 12 years, which be comparable with Johnny Walker Black. It has the smokey taste, but not too smokey, which I like.

The Far Bar was pretty hidden if you asked me. I had to follow my friend to make sure I was going the right way. On our way to the bar, I see that there's seats outside and bar seats, course we went for the bar seats because that's where the good service for drinks comes in! :)

The whiskey selection was overwhelming but I loved it. If you are sitting at the bar, make sure to ask them for the whiskey menu so you don't have to squint your eyes trying to read the board. Totally going to have to come back for another pour.

Far Bar, your patio is heaven on a summer's night. And granted, it wasn't summer when I squeezed through that tiny alleyway, but the excellent heaters and candlelight made it feel like a midsummer's night dream.

Okay, enough with the fancy words. I loved farbar! I ordered the thai curry and a few of us shared the wasabi fries. The wasabi fries were a bit disappointing, but the thai curry was perfect. It was perfectly spiced and I finished every bite, despite falling into an immediate food coma afterwards.

This place is a tiny hidden gem in Little Tokyo, and I would have never discovered it if a couple of friends hadn't taken me here. The food is delicious and cheap, and they have an extensive bar (PLUS live music)...what's there to dislike?

My only complaint is parking--like any downtown venue, and the hostess ignored us for a good fifteen minutes before greeting us, but maybe that's just because it was a busy Thursday night. I'd say come earlyish and stay for awhile! The ambiance is awesome, with food and prices to match.

One of the coolest bars I've been too. I love the outside area. It's a fun place to hang out with friends and enjoy a drink. I love the different Japanese beers they serve. They also have whiskey flights that are incredible. A must go!

Food here is general pretty interesting, they got washi fries. That's right is wasabi on it. I regret order the tacos which was just ok but not worth the price. Anyway here is more late night gathering after a meal isn't good idea to come here hungry.

Oh this place definitely has to be revisited!

5 of us turned up here on a Friday after having ramen in a place a little further down the street.

At first we took a seat inside the restaurant/bar until my friend remembered the outside seating. Outside is the place to be! Tables and chairs line a converted alley. Xmas lights and heat lamps create ambiance. Table service and beer flights top it off. I also sampled the brownie with ice cream, and in my professional opinion it's the perfect pairing with booze. The beer list was extensive. Come one. Come all

Far Bar is a tricky little bar to find in little tokyo.
its literally squeezed between two brick buildings, don't fret if you can't seem to find it...just focus ur eyes on a big RED Flag that reads "Far Bar"

They have a wide selection of delicious drinks - one of my favorite for my viewing pleasure is their infamous Flaming Lamborghini shots ! It takes 2 bartender to do this job so one shot is about 30 bucks but its completely worth the show!
Sometimes the bartender will opt out on fixing you this shot because its just A lot of work to make one dang shot!

regardless i know i always have a fun time here!

So one night after hitting up the LA Auto Show I ended up here for my first trip. Well I was very happy checking this joint out!

Very kewl small bar down a hallway in the midst of a larger building... we went to the bar itself and had a couple quick hits... great prices very fun environment.

I need to get my ass back here so I can do a full review other than just that they had an awesome beer selection that I think rotates. They also have a full bar and lots o grub.

Who wants to join me to go back and just chill here for an hour or three??? but its also very close to a number of great lil restaurants in Japan town and great for a pre dinner beverage or an a post dinner treat...

A historic bar where such films as Chinatown, and Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story were shot. Lots of memories here. This is the most frequently visited bar in Little Tokyo amongst my friends and those in the Asian-American community.
