They have some cool free events during certain seasons of the year so definitely great to check out. The only down side is parking. Garage or street only.

Beautiful scenic area that has water flowing from the ground to the stage area. Lots of summer performances in the grand area.

So glad I went. Lots of great music, great booze, and great company. Run River North was a great band. Hope to hear more from them in the future! Thank you Ed L./Gary G. for the plus one!

Been in a couple of events that took place here an it was fun. It's good to keep an eye on the events. They are free and famous artists visit once in a while.

The atmosphere and vibe was great. We went to go watch The Family Crest and the sound system was amazing! I can actually hear the words they're saying without having the sound system overpower their voices, yet the sound was hitting you hard enough to feel really immersed in it. There's plenty of good seating and views everywhere. It makes for a good picnic type opportunity, where you can bring you own drinks and snacks and enjoy the free show.

A free weekly concert series in DTLA is a great way to spend an evening with friends and family. Get there early to scope out a great spot to watch the show. Feel free to bring food and beverages to create a picnic experience.

Grand is on your obvious street of Grand Park with a center stage surrounded by a small lake and Bellagio like back drop!
I highly recommend coming for a free show when you want to soak in the scene and experience a bit of DTLA ! Btw they have amazing performances for showcase from Coachella!

What an awesome event, a tasting of a few bites from LocalTable and the official drink of Los Angeles made by GreenBar. Yes, the official drink of LA according to votes made in the Los Angeles magazine in part by KCRW. The announcement was made for everyone to try this new drink. Just like the drink called "The Manhattan" associates it to New York, the new drink called "The Griffith" for Los Angeles. I cannot make this stuff up, it really did happen. The drink was really refreshing and enjoying small shots of the other flavors by GreenBar, I remember the Ginger liquor which tasted like simple syrup infused with ginger and alcohol added to it. Back to the Griffith, it was green so very fitting for the GreenBar to make a cucumber lemon drink with basil

Double G's daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra is the band we are listening to and it was really awesome. Playing tracks from A Tribe Called Quest and special guest rappers really cranking out the lyrics. This is how music is supposed to be listened to with a full orchestra and not on the radio.

Great place to come during the Summer for free outdoor concerts.

I've been to a few of these concerts so far and always had a good time. You get the amazing city views and the fountain near the stage is beautiful!

You can bring a picnic, blankets for the night time, and wine to enjoy.
Be sure to arrive early as space tends to fill up quick. You can always find a spot somewhere on the top floor.

Parking: There's a small lot of 2nd & Hill St. for $10 flat rate. Or you can take the metro!

I never heard about this till recently, one of hidden local gem. Free music concept during the weekend at summer, only catch is the parking.... Not too bad only problem there's nothing to eat in walking distance nearby at night...

Pro-tip: Free parking on the street in late evenings.

It was nice to sit back and listen to Double G's daKAH Hip Hop Orchestra.
I did not google and listen to their sound prior to coming to the event.

I like hip hop; And, I sometimes will listen to classical music.
But, the combination of the two. You can see the artists getting their groove on.

Listening to the band while the mc was spitting out rhyme with the fountain and lights under the semi warm Ca night.

Food: Tasty samples from Local Tables
Drink: Tried the Griffith by Greenbar

For future visits, I will bring a picnic basket with a nice bottle of vino.

Nice place to relax with a cup of coffee or tea. Or enjoy lunch during the day. At night it becomes a stage.
Grand Performances presents free performing arts that reflect the best of global culture and inspire community among the diverse peoples of Los Angeles.

I have yet to see a performance at Grand Performances that I vibed with really well. Hey, I'm not saying this free concert series sucks (b/c it's great! And I love that they provide this to the public for free); I'm just saying that perhaps I just haven't had the best luck with picking the right performances to see.

I still really enjoy my time there though. How can you not when there's live music combined with food?

Awesome venue in the middle of Downtown LA! They've got great, free performances that everyone should take advantage of during summer. It's a nice place to walk around and socialize and you have a view of Los Angeles from the top! The sound of the performance is great and the water around the stage is really pretty. They have a parking lot so it's not difficult to find a spot, but it can be a bit pricey. But hey, the concert is free!

I have a wonderful picnic while listening/watching some eclectic shows and musical performances during the summertime at the Grand Performances located in the California Plaza in DTLA. The Grand Performances staff has done a great job in creating a diverse line up every week. Where can you watch the movie Dirty Dancing one week then listen to the Jazz Mafia another week? Just a few tips… find street parking which is free after 8pm I think if you can’t, then there is a parking garage. If you don’t have time to pack a picnic there are a couple of stores open to pick up a few snacks.

Grand Performances is a great outdoor space in DTLA that hosts free music and entertainment. It's a wonderful outdoor space. The fountain, once it's turned off becomes the main stage.

I've seen a few performances here and this is just a venue that you can't miss. The historic Angel's Flight Railway is not too far from here and you can take the short ride down the hill for $.50.

This is just a nice out in the town and if you get there early enough, you can have a nice romantic picnic with your loved one while you're watching the performance. Just check their calendar to see you what you're interested in. I can't wait to come back for the Hawaiian music.

Awesome!
