Honeycut has a very fun vibe. Dark atmosphere, good DJ, and fun space to drink, dance, and socialize.

Wow forgot I have been here and then boom saw it in my notes...

This is the only bar that I have seen whiskey on tap at too. They have a combo of fireball and Jameson on tap. It definitely was a fun nice surprise.

Other than the whiskey tap, this place is a typical bar that is hidden down an ally. Well except for the light up floor. None the less definitely a fun surprise that is atypical.

Beyond that it is average DTLA bar pricing and average DTLA bar. I have enjoyed the few times I have visited. There is a bar area, several alcove booths against the opposite wall, and the big lit up dance/mingling floor space.

So yeah just another bar to go grab a drink and hangout with some friends at.

My favorite spot to party when in DTLA. They play all sorts of good music but usually ends with some good hip hop bangers. Crowd is always fun :)

Great spot, though it can feel a little small at times if there are a lot of people.

Got rejected entry because our "girl to guy" ratio was off by one girl. Finally were able to get in with the help of a group behind us, but wow what a mission to get in to an overpriced, dark, and stinky "club!" The bouncers did not work with us at all and were very rude about it. The music was pretty cool, but the crowd was filled with unpleasant and rude people. Not planning on going back..

A very cute local lounge. They have wonderful homemade sodas all the non-alcoholics. If you plan on going on a weekend, be sure to go early as the line can get pretty long. Also cell reception is pretty hard to find when inside.

I am going to review this place one more time in the future. But the first time I came the line was barely moving at all for 2 hours! You would think they could move the line to somewhere else instead of the back alley where sewage waters leaks and smells like crap! The second time I came was for the E3 Convention afterparty, but for some reason this time the place was empty at 10pm! I got to check out the venue without the distraction of a crowd, so with one glance I can see that my home is bigger than this place. I will hold off on my final review until I can come back when there's actually a good crowd and see what honeycut is really about. I think a 3 star is fair for now.

Checking this place out at an E3 after party. One of the DTLA hotspots! Cute little lounge/club with a light up disco dance floor. They have an assortment of specialty cocktails. There are two separate rooms - one more loungey and one with a dance floor. It's a small space, so it can get crowded. There is also a dress code, so keep that in mind!

One of my "go to" places in Downtown Los Angeles. Good vibes, good people, and good music. Line can get kind of crazy on Friday nights, so try to get there before 11!
IF it was a bit bigger, this would definitely be an even better spot

The club itself was pretty decent. I hard a lot about the club, but this time seemed different from what I heard. The DJ had a really mixed style of music from footloose to 50cent. Overall it was an okay club.

One of the few spot to dancing in DTLA. The best nights are Friday, Saturday. The drinks are strong depending on what bartender you go to. They make their own ginger ale. Lines can be long so be ready to wait.

Location is confusing - make sure to walk toward the corner of Subway, in an alley !

The latest speakeasy of the town!
I never heard of this place and then all of a sudden my ears were ringing off the hook about it!

We arrived around 10:30 pm and the line was ridiculous..thankfully we busted something sneaky and got in a lot faster than we anticipated!

In one room it was like a disco lounge, where the floor lights up as you dance like John Travolta and another secret room next to the Dj was the another room where its more of a Seventh and Grand Bar feel - with a pool table in the middle and people bunched up near the bar.

overall it was a very hip bar!

This place is easy to miss. All you see is a small lit up "Honeycut" sign in the middle of an alley. At the time we went in, there was no line... guess we were lucky, because when we left, a lot of people were waiting to get in.

Once you go in, you go down the stairs into an underground hidden bar. Note since it's underground, you probably won't have cell phone reception.

I think the bartender mixed up my drink and my friend's, but it's all good because they were both tasty. I had the Candy's room, which has gin and ginger beer among other things. The other drink (sorry I forgot the name but it was listed first on the board) had apple brandy, a liquor of aloe vera and cucumber, and pear cider. Their cocktail list is definitely interesting. There's also a list of specialty sodas that you can add booze to!

One room has a dance floor with tiles that light up. The other room is darker and has more of a lounge feel. It's worth stopping by and checking out. Chill place.

First to Review

honeycut i like you :)

:: WHY? ::
- friendliest bouncer i've ever met
- fancy ($11-$15) crafted-ish cocktails
- ac
- dance floor that lights up
- 2 rooms: dance room with old school groovy music and a loungey room that smells like speakeasy (idk y, i've been to several "speakeasy" and that place had that smell... yes I am weird)
- sorta hidden entrance in the alley
- not-so-strict dress code unless a man wears shorts
- i got lucky and getting in + getting booze wasn't as long as expected (we showed up around 10:45 ish)

:: why you don't get 5 stars ::
- Small place, surprisingly I went on a not-so-busy night so i didn't get as claustrophobic
- Fancy expensive cocktails/shots are pre-made so the bartender just pours it for you...an d takes a shot with you.
- If the cocktails are pre-made then it shouldn't take that long to get drinks.
- only two bathroom stalls.

BOOZE:
- strawberry cream (homemade soda) with cognac: no, dont get it. Taste like soda water with subtle sweetness and cognac
- overpass ( fireball candy flavored with jameson) $7: good deal good shot
- under "classy as fuck" catham cocktail: friggin strong....ack
- under "pick me up" sun also rises (sherry, rum, marachino lqiour, grapefruit and lime juice): citrus and strong $15 tasted better than it smelled.

INTERESTING:
- each room has a different cocktail menu, dance floor is cheaper.
- dance room and other room has a piano and a pool table

I will be back :)
