If you're staying in LA longer than a week... i'd recommend taking one evening to do a Korean BBQ. If you've never done it, you have to try it. Definitely not for the Vegetarian crowd.
Oh and also try Boba... or Bubble tea... try the house milk with boba to start.

K-Town's food and nightlife scene has really boomed in the past couple years in LA. It is a foodie haven and also has a ton of popular speakeasy bars, karaoke lounges, and new trendy hotels. Best get your KOREAN BBQ FIX here!

Definitely come here if you are tired of the Hollywood or Westside beach scene.

Koreatown LA is a bit sprawling geographically, but it is filled with authentic Korean bars and restaurants that will satisfy any foodie's palate.

We love k-town. It's like going on a mini Korea vacation. They have great eateries like Korean BBQ or soon tofu... Anything you can imagine for a Korean grub. We also visit this place called wi spa. It's 24 hours and absolutely amazing. Livingsocial has great coupons for a discounted price. A must go.

I don't think I've ever seen a Korea Town before and LA's Korea Town is impressive. Amazing food and karaoke!

Apparently, it's becoming THE spot to be at... well, at least in my mind. Walkability, Korean BBQ restaurants, and general shops are some of my favorite things about K-town.

Los Angeles has the highest density of Koreans outside of Korea itself. So ofcourse there is a Korea Town. Every good Korean knows that this is the spot to drink soju, get your fix of all you can eat Korean bbq (which is actually just an LA thing) and hang at coffee houses. Parking sucks which makes for a lot of valet services.Korea Town is an entity on it's own, densely packed with lots to do, see and eat.

I used to live in Koreatown. Great food, great culture, great people. Also some of the best apartments for location and your money.

Is it bad that I am drooling just thinking about K-Town? I seriously could sit down to about one serving of bulgogi and forget everything else!

There are a ton of great restaurants here. There really are. There are also some pretty shoddy restaurants here too. Beware of the roads as they need to be repaired with a passion. At least the main thoroughfares. A number of the side streets are pretty nice I must say after having driven around trying to find parking. They have some fun events now and then like bike rides and festivals at a park or two.

Pro Tip: Parking is a nightmare, so if you see a spot, swoop dat ish fast! But make sure you have enough coins or cash to pay the piper…

However this part of town is known for its Barbeque… and we aint talken texass brisket or ribs… we are talken galbi, bulgogi, short ribs, brisket, etc etc etc… those delightful Korean delicacies that have made the rest of the world go crazy for it in AYCE portions…

I love coming to K-Town and eating till I am rolled out of the restaurant by the staff, my friends or whomever… none the less I will rinse n repeat as often as I think I can. This is an atkins dieter’s dream city…

Maybe I will even run into you there one of these days =)

Ktown has expanded in LA to span several miles in all directions. The popular borders tend to be between Beverly and Olympic (really to Venice) and between Westmoreland and Wilton. The purple line extends two stops into ktown from Vermont to Western on Wilshire and the red line has stops on Beverly and Wilshire on Vermont.

The more central areas that are popular to hang out in lie between Western and Vermont and 5th and 8th street. In this area you can walk to numerous clubs, bars, restaurants, cafes, karaoke joints, and lounges. Ktown is a great place to drink and eat with friends and has it's own subculture and even it's own network and infrastructure to support it. The Korean food in Ktown LA is second only to Korea and often that is even debatable! The night life is never boring and the more whiskey is consumed in this little area than any other part of LA! It's always a great time in ktown but I hope you know how to hold your liquor and don't mind singing for hours with your friends!

5 things I love about Ktown:
1) Korean grocery stores - best fruits and the freshest seafood outside of farmer's markets
2) Korean Restaurants - Korean food is comfort food for me!
3) Korean cafes - often very roomy and you can stay there for an entire day without anyone bothering you; but a coffee can cost you $7-8
4) Korean spas!!! - if you've never tried one before, it's such a unique experience, you gotta try it!
