Something for everyone at LA Live! Entertainment central in LA. I highly suggest using public transportation as driving in this area and finding parking is beyond challenging!

They have a great selection of restaurants! It's a very lively space. During the holidays they have ice skating, which is a great family activity.

There is definitely no shortage of things to do here. Movies, restaurants, clubs, the Staples Center...the only downfall is the parking...but it's LA, so you are going to have to deal with a crazy parking situation anywhere. They host a lot of seasonal activities too. I am really fond of the ice skating rink that they have at Christmas!

A very versatile place! Today there was an outdoor concert sponsored by pandora. There are usually lots of concerts and activities here so you have to check the event schedule. Overall though this place is always a good time! Saw fifth harmony and Jason Derulo live! :D

LA Live is a collection of shops, music venue, and stadium all rolled up into one in downtown LA. Whether you're enjoying a post-game meal or looking to have some drinks with friends while bowling, there's something for everyone.

L.A. Live is a major sports and entertainment district in the heart of downtown. It's a great place to go out to dinner, grab drinks, and see a show or concert, all without leaving the area. If you want to see big acts, check out the Nokia Theater and Club Nokia.

LA Live… who comes here for anything but ice skating? Seriously? Maybe someone who lives within a mile or two but it is definitely not a destination of choice by anyone I know.

Its fun to cruise to Staples Nokia or perhaps even the Xgames (but they are gone now), but otherwise who comes here? I don’t know anyone who has ever said hey lets go to LA Live. Then again I don’t surround myself with friends who want to go to random chains with an inflated price tag just because they are at LA Live.

Pro Tip: Parking is expensive so check for the lots a block or two away and walk a bit to save half or more of your parking fee.

The only times I have ever been to “LA Live” is once before a kings game to grab a beer that was grossly overpriced. The other was for an Xgames tour and tasting. I love going to staples, but I don’t eat there either. I did once years ago when I still ate fast food and got a mcdonalds quarter pounder which was inflated to about 1.75% of its normal price! But yeah that was years ago and I know the prices haven’t gone down.

But overall this is a great tourist trap for folks who want to come to the area and see the typical chit that they have at home with the LA skyline in the background. Granted I love the skyline too, but its so much prettier seeing it from any of a million nearby hiking trails.

Likely you have figured out that I am just not a fan of this place/event. It is just so big boxed and late 80s or early 90s in concept that doesn’t work so well IMHO in the 20teens. If it had been a bunch of unique restaurants, bars, and shopping it would be awesome. I mean look at Japan-Town or other parts of DTLA with a nightlife scene filled with all kinds of adventure.

So come here for the same old boring everything you already know, if you want something new and adventuresome, this is not your place.

ohhh BTW GO KINGS GO!

Before there were Staples Center and L.A. Live, this area is ghost town and for most locals. After Anschutz Entertainment Group builds Staples Center, everything changes here. Soon after Nokia Plaza, Grammy Museum, ESPN Studio, and even fancy 5 stars hotel Ritz Carlton was also been build.

Transportation is easy; there is metro rail and many bus stops near 2 freeways. Parking is not great. Unless you come here in Sunday, so you can park in the street free. Traffic is quite bad during rush hours. Eating is quite pricey here; there is not local shop in the plaza, mostly franchise.

Overall, if you want music and sport entertainment up to date, this would be the place. NFL stadium probably would get build soon, which mean more TRAFFIC! This place reminds me bit like Universal City Walk, except there is a lot more event going on. I will not really come here unless there is event in nearby. I rather drive a bit far to eat like K-Town would you get much better value.

LA Live has definitely played a large role in revitalizing the nightlife in downtown LA. The restaurants located in LA Live are not my favorite, but it's a great place to eat before catching a show at Nokia Theater or Club Nokia or before watching at movie a Regal Cinemas. It's also very close to the Staples Center.

A hub of energy in the LA downtown area, LA live really brought life to this neighborhood with events, venues, activities, and restaurants.

Los Angeles has long wanted to bring life back to Downtown LA, and LA Live is definitely it's best chance of doing so. Built as an entertainment complex around the Staples Center containing concert venues big and small, restaurants, shopping, hotels and nightlife, there is no shortage of things to do or places to spend your time.

I come here to go to the Staples Center, Nokia Theater and sometimes I'll come and eat here (for a show at the Conga Room or something)... And there's isn't much happening here.

Yeah there is a overpriced bowling alley and lots of food... other than that... not much. I think it's good to have this place because you can just walk across the street after a Lakers or Clipper game or a concert. Or before the game/concert. So I guess it's good to have.

It's just OK. Parking is BLEH. But the restaurants are nice.

Overall... LOTS OF TRAFFIC after a game or concert... good luck.

LA Live is a massive entertainment development in downtown LA. Its garish screens light up the night and its blaring speakers scream ads at all visitors. Some nice restaurants, but I avoid the complex.
