originally opened in 1971 and has been renovated twice. The LACC plays host to national acts and conferences throughout the year. Perhaps the highlight of the center are the two stone inlaid maps in the lobbies. With a total area of about 140,000 square feet, the map in the lower lobby shows earth centered on the Pacific rim, while the upstairs lobby showcases the constellations.

Great venue with many different events going on all year long. Parking can get really expensive though.

Here with 9,000 other people and there is plenty of room. The fact that the air is cool in here while it's hot outside is bonus! Coffee carts, restaurant, plenty of area to navigate without running into everyone.

Overpriced food but fun cosplayers. Not as big as comicon but still brings in a lot of people. Stan Lee didn't look too well

This review is for ANIME EXPO 2014 held at the LACC.

I used to work at this expo doing photography marketing and it is pretty overwhelming having it 4 days straight with plenty of cosplay, walking, panels, guests, and art all around from the exhibition hall to all the planned events throughout the expo. Definitely a local culture that happens once a year.

Make sure to bring a camera to take pictures of all the awesome people dressed up in cool amazing outfits called cosplay based on your favorite animes to cartoons on tv and over the web and even video games that come to life.

Make sure to also wear deodorant and carry a bit extra because with 1000s of people around you, it does get a little BO around and you want to make sure you aren't the one being smelly.

Bring some money for all the food trucks in the area instead of having to pay the over cost of convention food which isn't as good as food trucks outside of the convention.

Carpool and find parking or pay $15 to park at the convention center. It has decreased in price from other years.

Buy something at the exhibition hall and support the artists.

Final note: Have Fun!

I went here for E3 and it was great. I have gone to the San Diego convention center for years and have always hoped Comic Con would stay in SD, but after visiting the LA center, I would be okay with it moving there.

I've also been to my share of conventions here as well! I am so lucky to live in Los Angeles, to be able to experience all the major conventions without having to make a big commute! The venue itself is stunning, and never seems to disapoint!

The home of so many events.... Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3), The LA Auto Show. Anime Expo has been here for over 3 years now. I've seen Japan Expo, Be Well Expo, Hot Import Nights, Barney's New York sales... it goes on and on.

You might recall some movie scenes here too, like the opening of Face/Off, or the action sequence in Rush Hour.

Parking is a costly $15! If I can help, I try to look for free parking, a few blocks away, in the residential areas.
