Description
A busy public space dating back to 1886, Pershing Square is right in the middle of downtown. Once filled with lampposts, palm trees and a central fountain, this five-acre area was reinvented by ... Read more
architect Ricardo Legorreta in 1984 to acclimate it to its transformed surroundings. The park has since been stripped of its grass and trees, and is now dominated by a 120-foot high purple campanile (tower), a Legorreta favorite. The park is also full of Californian symbols, the most prominent of which is a fake fault line that runs from one corner of the park to the other.

Pershing Square is a great area for events. I seen many events for food and culture awareness among other things.

Beautiful but small. The concert series are a must to attend but get there early. The B52 concert was nightmare attendance wise. Too many people,so little space.

its a park in the middle of downtown, sort of a tourist trap but at least its free... nothing to buy really just a place to relax since its downtown and a pretty busy area, can get there from metro easily

This is a small park, or city square, in DTLA. There are some statues here to see, but otherwise, probably not too much to actually bring you to it. If you're in DTLA, stop here and spend some time exploring what the block-size square has, but I wouldn't come downtown just to see it. I've also been told that they are planning on redesigning the square and making it flush with the ground so that it will resemble more of a European-style plaza.

During the holiday season, you can come out and enjoy a night of ice skating in the park as they have it set up for you to skate and party around. They rent the ice skates there so you don't have to bring your own.

Great place to hangout and they have a convenient spot with a train stop here!

Pershing Square is a park in the heart of downtown LA. Although it does offer some amenities, the transients from skid row often overflow into this area making it trashy and dirty. However, when Pershing square hosts special events such as Silent discos, light saber Guinness record, arts and vendor events, it is fun and enjoyable and more like 4 stars. If there isn't a special event avoid!

At times there are events/artwork displayed out in this space. But it's unfortunately often quite filthy.

One of the very few parks downtown, this place isn't much, and is often frequented by the homeless. But local authorities have been trying to make it nicer in recent years. It is now home to a public art installation called "liquid shard", which is a must see if you are in this neck of the woods. The park also hosts festivals, farmers markets and summer concerts.

Went here for the free Todd Rundgren concert. It was the first time I had ever been here and I loved it! The people were chill, including Security, and there was plenty of food and libation trucks to quench any craving. It was clean, great sound system, and you can't beat the view!

While Pershing Square still needs some work to upgrade its "parkness", the addition of two new playgrounds has proven very beneficial to local families and, along with the nearby eateries, helps make Pershing Square more of an actual destination.

Walking distance from (you guessed it) Pershing Square Metro station.

It's pretty easy to miss, since it's only a block. It's a public parking garage underneath. The actual Pershing square has some modern art pieces that you can enjoy. During the winter months, they have a small ice skating ring, which you pay for by the hour.

This spot has promise. You could envision it becoming the equivalent of San Francisco's Union Square. It is even anchored by the historic Biltmore hotel. Unfortunately, the square is dominated by the homeless and isn't well-kept. Pungent.

Pershing Square is one of those iconic squares in Downtown Los Angeles. It is literally one square block and is designated as a public park. There is a fountain, a purple structure with bell, and places to sit throughout. It's sort of an eyesore but there are efforts to redesign it in the future. It's a great place to meet and start your tour of LA.

I have never met a group of wonderfully cherry staff of people working at the same place before. I guess, just the feeling of Christmas really ought to make any ol' grinch turn their smile upside down.
Parking at Pershing Square lot is $7 but we were able to get a bit of a discount for $5.

Greeted with Katie's infamous Hugs never ever fails at the events she runs! Aside from just her loving hugs, we got Robert immediately offering his assistance even with tying my skates! The lovely Ashley with her infectious warmth of helpfulness ..i couldn't help but just fall in love with the both of them.

I thought it was just them that were wonderful , but EVERY. SINGLE staff members from the helpers and the onlookers were all so willing to help with everything! They were even professional photographers with the different skills of lighting and getting beautiful backdrops of DTLA.

It was def. a great evening.
