This is a hidden gem in downtown LA near the arts/industrial district. If wine is not your thing, you can still enjoy their food, definitely have their breakfast foods They give you popcorn while you wait for food. The place is small but it creates a great intimate vibe. A plus is that they several board games you can play.

A "must go" wine bar. The food is amazing, the company is great and the atmosphere is chill. Relax, drink, eat and laugh.

This review is for their Wine School class held on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Price: $20 per person

Parking: Free 2 hr street parking - tough to find
$5 parking lot on Mateo

Pro-tip: Free on Mateo is you are willing to walk a bit after 6 pm.

Class is a blind tasting of 10 wines, of various varietal or blended wines.

Don't worry if you don't know much about wine. Participants of the class were not wine snobs. Or least at my table. :)
But, by the end of the tasting you will have increased your wine knowledge, you might be the sommelier for your bffs.

Here are some new words that they introduced: spurred cordon, cannonau, tempranillo, terrior, ampelographer, sangioverse, is crabilis, and cepage.

Here is what I learnt: I don't like whites as much as reds.

Overall, I had fun. I would recommend if you don't want to drive to various vineyards for wine tasting.

Totally love this wine bar. Like most places in the downtown arts district, it's down a random street that's easy to miss if you don't where you're going. This totally adds to the atmosphere though. There is a huge selection of wines by the glass, creative food choices and very friendly service. The space is modern and industrial. There is also a great happy hour.

*4.5 stars*

Awesome, unassuming wine bar in Downtown. Very simple decor with low-lighting and low-volume (great for dates or catching up with a friend).

Excellent selection of Malbec varieties (my favorite wine). Huge selection of wines.

Smores dessert was okay, but nothing great

Board games are available for those who hate talking to the people they are with.

Finally a wine bar with amazing prices and friendly service. I had this place bookmarked after reading Katie B's review. It's right next to church and state and when we walked in, we were greeted by Lorena, the woman behind the wine bar. I've been looking for a wine bar where the wine wasn't expensive and was relatively quiet to hang out in with friends until the wee hours of the night. Though we stayed past their business hours, we never got kicked out or hurried out. We were able to enjoy a flight of wine each (sweets and the spaniards 8.50 for flights with heavy pours) and then a whole bottle for only $9.

I had an amazing 3 cheese plate that comes with pickles, jams, honey, bread, crackers, dates, dried berries. The prices vary depending on how many cheese you want to try.

We even bought a bottle to go. The prices here are really affordable for really awesome wine. I'm going to make this place my regular go-to place.

HH's daily @ 4 - 7 PM (+1)

Select glass of red, white/ sparkling wine for $5 & assorted menu items.. =) +1

The beer on tap (usually local or regional) for $3 a pint.

Casual wine bar where customers earn a complimentary taste of cava and some truffle popcorn.

Stay until 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and enjoy their Action Trivia night.. =)

On Sundays @3 p.m., there's Bladder Busters, when the draught beer is $2

You can pour your own craft beer or Jameson shots right at your table. +1
*BUT this is Within reason: A computerized system tracks and limits consumption.

Whiskey lovers will definitely enjoy their 10 pages long menu =)

Decor of the front bar is open and airy, but their backroom bar has a prohibition era feel to it; with its kool wallpaper, dropped ceiling and dim lighting make this an intimate cozy setting for everyone to enjoy. +1

The backroom is where events such as: Monday craft beer night and Wednesday whiskey club are held. ;)

Shots of Jack Daniels is $2 whenever a train rumbles by.

It's only open until midnight on the weekends, but he bar usually won't kick you out until 1:30am =)

Pour Haus Wine Bar is tucked in an industrial part of Downtown LA. The street is actually pretty cool because there are other bars near by.

They have board games to keep you entertained. You're even greeted with a free truffle pop corn. They offer light bites and flights of wine, wine by the glass, wine bottles and bottles of beer. They do offer a cheese plate for $11.

It's not a big place. But it sure is a fun way to spend time with friends.
