I loved the fire places inside. It made it feel very welcoming and cozy. The drinks were ok. I had a margarita. My friends had an apple cider, which I didn't like and a whiskey sour, which was decent. The food was much better then the drinks. The Tatar tots were really good, the grilled chicken sandwich was delicious, and you can never go wrong with a grilled cheese sandwich in my opinion. I would definitely go back to give there drinks another try and try more yummy food.

The Griffin is a popular gastropub with a fantastic menu and strong drinks. With a great jukebox, outdoor patio with fireplace and smoking, you'll be sure to have a great time. There are also booths with intimate lighting for a more personal feel.

Came here for a birthday last night and the place is dead on the weekdays but ALIVE on weekends. But I like it like that. I had peace and quiet!

FOOD:
Ordered the food at the bar and sat at a table. I ordered the turkey burger and it was like Thanksgiving in a bun - cranberry, stuffing, turkey burger... and chips on the side. I thought the turkey burger was dry... I still ate it cuz I was hungry. The chips was good and my friend's french fries were REALLY GOOD.

DRINKS:
I got the Moscow Mule and I got it done the right way. In a copper cup (you have to give your ID to them to get that drink because people steal the cups) and it was good. I love the cup it comes in and it made me feel like a hardcore drinker... which I'm not, but still... COOL. I felt cool.

There are some cheap drinks that they offer and I love it. There is a mystery shot for $4. What?! That's not even happy hour time! It's ALL the time. Wuddd...

AMBIANCE:
So laid back and very cool. The stone walls are cool and it's just a really hip place. Yes, hipsters would love it. Great for a photoshoot too.

SERVICE:
Standard

PRICES:
Pretty good.

PARKING:
Street

OVERALL:
Great place for drinks!

This place is pretty poppin! The bar is pretty nice and packed. I got the MOSCOW MULE and it was really good and STRONG too. The bartender put a lot of vodka in my drink. If you get the moscow mule, they are going to have to take your ID to make sure you don't take their fancy cup...

So what do you need when you step up to a bar and go to place an order? A footrail obviously! This is perhaps the single most important aspect of a real bar. Do they have a footrail? The Griff sure does! So it is a real bar to me woo woo =)

Not only does it have that iconic conveyance for a real bar, they serve some decent drinks, have some reduced lighting, some tasty vittles, and an honest pour! I was here for a happy hour not too long ago and it was definitely a happy enough time for me to have spent about 4-5 hours here before running off to another joint to go dancing with some friends for a while.

Pro Tip: Park down the street in the neighborhood for free parking.

If you cant find this place due to its being rather inconspicuous, look for the Tam O’Shanter prime rib joint which is directly across the street. The building is very nondescript and unassuming from the exterior. It is 2 stories as well.

Pro Tip #2: Do NOT wear any sports team regalia as they do not allow that inside.

They have a smoking area out on the patio for all the chain smokers and a large number of chairs, fireplaces, benches and tables set up around the interior to make a unique and comfortable environment. The atmosphere is conducive to having a good time with a small, medium, or large party. Heck, if you just want to go grab a drink solo, you can be easily accommodated for that as well.

Overall I really enjoyed this place. The food was pub food, the drinks were tasty, the environment superb, hell they even had decent service. So overall, you bet your bibby I am going back here when I get the chance!

Cool bar with a laid back feel. Indoor fireplaces and a very interesting red brick interior. They serve tater tots and have a good selection of beers.

Great bar down the street from Bigfoot Lodge -- gas fireplaces keep the room cozy and how can you not love a place that serves tater tots??

They take their drinks seriously -- some really pretty cocktails here. The decor of the place is hard to describe, lots of archways and painted brick, cozy couches and a fireplace to sit by if you can snag a seat there. There are also plenty of smaller tables.

The Lowdown==- Saturday night no cover, dim lit castle-like interior, "caged" outside patio, laid back crowd knocking back beers.

You cannot run out of places to sit here. There could be 6-8 large parties and this dive would be able to handle it. The crowd attracted here are the friendly kind to spark random conversations with, so douchebaggery is checked at the door. There are a couple nice fireplaces set up inside next to large couches, and large picnic bench set-ups scattered about so gathering your friends around would not be a problem in this ultra space-efficient spot.

There is a central and side bar where the crowd gets at most 1 deep. There's never really problems trying to get your drink order to the bartender, since the noise ambiance at this place was not annoyingly loud.

Quick Note: there's nothing upstairs except the kitchen, don't even try to go up. I wanted to sneak up at one point because I thought it was the ultra-exclusive VIP lounge. NOPE, *clank* *clank* *clank* only pots and pans! Downstairs is fun enough.

Restrooms aren't super, but when are they ever are at a divey bar. At least the stalls had doors and it wasn't a single occupancy.
