Located next to the fashion district, this is a great spot for Mexican street food, fabrics, and flea market style shopping. My girlfriend and I come here for elotes, smoothies, and to buy cheap fabric, hats, and other clothing for costume projects. There is street parking ($4/hr) but if you can't find any because it is busy during the weekends, lots are only $3-$6 and cheaper if you stay longer than an hour. Bring cash because you can usually haggle a cheaper price with cash.

Dirty streets with cheap clothing. People trying to take you to parking lots for "luxury bags." Total garbage.

you can pretty much find anything @ Santee Alley from a great pair of shoes to rave outfits . They pretty much have everything for a slightly cheaper price than the mall stores would . It's a great place to go to if you want to find good clothing for a great price.

I've been in LA for a while and never been to The Santee Alley. Finally made it on New Years Eve to buy a tie.

This place is definitely a little peace of LA to the fullest. Full of live and it's fun just to walk down the streets. I'm sure especially for tourists this trip will be a great add on for their LA visit.

The clothes and everything they sell here are great and I'm sure a lot of things are cheaper than in shopping malls. For younger people they will definitely find something here if they're looking for suits, tie or beanies and hats.

This is the place to be if you're looking for a good deal! They have everything from clothing and eateries to car stereo and colored contacts! Make sure to grab a bacon wrapped hot dog while you're strolling through the streets!

Come here during the weekdays, the weekends are really packed. If you are looking to buy a tuxedo or suit or even prom dresses to bridal dresses this area is the place to go. Lots of options for shoes for women and make up. They sell brand names at discounted prices like MAC all over the alley.

Yes, it's dirty, crowded, and often a little sketchy- but it's fun and there are so many great deals to find! I took my friend here for the first time a few days ago and she was blown away. Most people have the same reaction when they first visit Santee and the Fashion/Fabric District: "Oh my GOD, I had no idea this area even existed!!!". Whether you are looking for a fabulous knockoff designer bag or a blinged-out dress for prom, you can find some seriously fun deals down here. My friend found her dream purse: a taupe, leather fringe, cross-body bag, for only $35. She was super stoked. I found a couple nail polishes for only $.99/each! Whatever you are looking for, bring parking money, wear walking shoes, and plan to wander for at least a few hours.

Although a lot better than a flea market, most items sold here are not high quality products. This is definitely the place to go for fashion shopping however.

Wow haven't been here since I was a teen but we'd go practically every weekend. You can find great bargains if you hunt around. Just be careful of quality and remember if it's got a label there's a good chance it's fake.

Located within the Fashion District and defying the image of an uncrowded Los Angeles downtown, for me Santee Alley is more for watching people rather than shopping (which I hate).

Parking is a bitch here, but if you know how to bargain, you will get good deals!

Area known as the fashion district. Its very crowded. This place is more relevant if you are a fashion student and are looking for clothe and other raw materials to be used for clothing. Or if you are looking for non-name brand clothing. Most of the clothing is not that great unless you find the sample sales that go on from one of the area's designers.
