LA field trip stop #3
Urban Lights at LACMA.
I've seen pictures of these light posts, I finally got to see it up front and personal.

It's Beautiful!!
Located at the entrance to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) on Wilshire Blvd, it was created by Chris Burden.
202 Street lamps (17 different variety) from the 1920's and 1930's. It's elegant.

We saw it in the afternoon and it looks good. Seeing it at night when it's lit up would be even better.

What a grand entrance to this museum!
It shines a light in the heart of Los Angeles.

Come and see it for yourself =)

Featured in many movies, Urban Light is a FREE display outside of the LACMA! (Los Angeles County Museum of Art)

This is an art display right outside of LACMA which takes various lamp posts from throughout the greater Los Angeles area and lines them up. You will find a lot of people here taking various photos of the lamps. Don't discount the possibility of seeing celebrities here if you're celebrity spotting. We went to them, and a couple of hours later, Wil Wheaton (Star Trek: TNG, The Big Bang Theory, among other things) posted a picture of the lights as well.

You can't visit LA and NOT take photos at the urban lights. It's a staple that everyone loves.

One can not drive by the Urban lights without breaking their neck. It is a must see, easily accessible, free light exhibit that is stunning and fun. Go there at night for the maximum experience.

I'm not sure the fuss. I would only go here 1) at night or you don't really get the full effect, 2) if I was looking for a cool spot to take pictures, 3) if I was already at the LACMA. I went at 11pm on a Friday and it was busy. There's some street parking.

Urban Light is Chris Burden's assemblage of 1920s and 1930s Los Angeles street lamps. The display is most striking at night when the lamps are lit but it will catch your eye, night or day.

Los Angeles is home to some of the world's most iconic landmarks and the Urban lights in LACMA's (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) pavilion is no exception. It's a popular spot among locals and tourists alike and it makes for an excellent backdrop for selfies. If you're in the area, you definitely need to take some snap shots here.

This exhibit has been historically used in many MOVIES. It would be a shame to miss if you are vacationing only 5 minutes away!
