A very turisty establishment to eat or take home spanish ham. If you don't know where or how to get top quality "Jamon Serrano" (spanish ham), I suggest you buy it at "El Corte de Ingles" (Hipercor), located on Calle Preciados, bottom floor. In here, you won't get "tricked" and can get any type of Jamon Serrano from the fairly inexpensive to the highest grades available (at about EUR 200/Kg for Top "Jamon de Bellota, Jabugo" variety.

I just love that there is a place called Museum of Ham. We stopped in for a cervezas y bocadillas and were given some free Jamón to sample, as well. The walls and ceilings are covered with hanging legs.

They have an all-day special that is €2, it includes a sandwich and your choice of coffee, wine, or soda. Not bad, right? Since our hostel didn't offer free breakfast, we had been either eating out or making our own from groceries bought at a local market.

Enter the Museo del Jamón (ham museum) which is a local chain restaurant and deli. The locals frequent it as much as the tourists do. My cousin and I opted for the salami sandwiches which were the perfect small portion for breakfast. The coffee is brewed fresh and strong. I didn't dare ask for decaf. Do Europeans even drink decaf? Heck, I was on vacation. A little caffeine wasn't going to hurt me. They offer croissant sandwiches as well. They actually have posters hanging up with photos of all their sandwiches. Just point and read it out loud. They usually understand you. Prices are cheap, food is decent for cost. It can be busy at times but there are locations all over the city.

Restaurant has good food, generous portions, great prices. Not fancy, but the Museos de Jamón are a true Madrid classic

Tasty food, good and nice service. I've been here like four times and none of them was a bad experience. Also it's cheap in relation to the quality, so yeah, I would come back.

Lovers of cured pork in all its goodness should head here. The amount of ham here is astonishing! It's a great place to sample jamón serrano and the higher quality jamón iberico. While I wish these could be souvenirs back in the US, remember you cannot get them past customs if you are American. USDA still makes it incredibly difficult - only four brands can be sent back and you need a specific certificate and customs stamp that approves its return. So eat as much while you can...

My friend and I stopped here to try some of their famous jamon sandwiches. This place gets PACKED! Everyone comes here to sample their tapas. Prices are affordable, and it's pretty neat to see all that ham hanging from the ceiling!

Serrano ham and it's rolls royce, Pata Negra(black foot) is well represented here! If you are a lover of all things pig, there is no better place to go, to learn about the history of this revered produce, whilst eating a good ham roll whilst sipping on a sherry!

If you like ham (or meat in general) you will love this place. There are always free samples so feel free to come here on an empty stomach. You have to try the jamon iberico, it's the best!

I laughed hysterically when I saw this place... of course Madrid would have a "Ham Museum" (it's not so much a museum as market/cafe). If you've ever been to Madrid, you know they love their ham there. But a fun a place to visit, get a coffee and snaps some photos with a row of ham hocks.

About as quintessentially Spanish as it's possible to get. The Museo del Jamon is always bustling with people stopping in for a coffee and a bocadillo, some of the excellent tapas dishes or to pick up a whole ham. As the name suggests, if you're not a confirmed carnivore, then maybe it's not the place for you. Very atmospheric and centrally located.
