One of the best beaches in all of CA for it's waves, views, and volleyball courts.

On of the LA areas best beaches, but it defiantly lacks the beauty of others nearby. It's very large and offers a little more room to spread out. It is a bit of a drive from Santa Monica, so be prepared.

My favorite Beach! Beautiful views. Get there early and you’ll have your own private beach area.

One of favorite beaches to visit. It's always clean, nice size waves to play in and on a good day you can catch dolphins swimming and playing near by. The bathrooms can be a little sketchy but it's no different than any other public restroom. Can get pretty crowded around noon, I usually like to go a little later in the day; once all of the summer camps and big groups of teens leave, lol!!

Another great beach to visit that may not be as crowded as say Venice or Malibu.

Known for its seemingly endless, wide sandy beaches (stretching four miles), excellent surf and supermodel lifeguards, this is the Baywatch setting you always imagined, but without the Hoff. Best yet, it’s one of the few local beaches where you can ACTUALLY go into the water without fear of growing a third nipple. There’s volleyball courts, gymnastic rings, and old-school fry shacks or you can just lay out and document your day with the classic “legs in the sand” photo.

Zuma Beach is by far the best beach to visit. Even when crowded you still have plenty of room. The beach is so clean and quiet. Free parking on the street. 14 bucks to park in the lot. Nice to see surfers and of course the dolphins.

Great beach spot in Malibu. The entry fee is only $6 for the day. There is a snack shack and clean bathrooms.

This is a gorgeous stretch of the California coastline in Malibu. I highly recommend making the drive out here from LA if you have the chance as the scenery and food options nearby make it well worth the visit.

Malibu is lined with miles and miles of beaches, some with easy public access and some that private landowners would like to keep to themselves. But almost everyone can agree that this beach is one of Malibu's best. It's a drive north of town along Hwy 1, but worth the trip for sun and sand.

This is by far my favorite beach that I've been to in LA as of yet. There is so much space to spread out, even when it's crowded, and you are guaranteed a dolphin sighting. The waves can get pretty big sometimes, but if you don't swim too far out you'll be fine. And two thumbs up for free parking on the side of the road!

Zuma Beach in Malibu is a great family friendly beach with lots of white sand and clean water. I'd avoid Venice Beach with a little one (syringes and a large homeless population). Zuma Beach has free street parking but there aren't restaurants nearby. The perfect opportunity to have a beach picnic.

Zuma is a great beach to go to. Here you will feel like you have really gotten away. 21 miles up the coast via the Pacific Coast Highway. Pack a lunch and head out for the day.
