Cool vibes, beautiful rustic interior, and great food makes Manhattan Beach Post a must visit during your trip to Manhattan beach!

I've bookmarked this place for awhile now and I'm happy to finally cross it off my list. My friend and I were looking for a place to hang out and grab an early dinner so we walked in around 5:30 PM on a Sunday. It seems like they require a reservation most of the time, but they were able to squeeze us in as long as we were done by 6:30 PM for the next reservation.

The interior is really interesting since it used to be an old post office. You can still see the remnants of the post office throughout the restaurant, which adds a really cool vintage vibe to the entire place. The food itself is quite notable. My friend and shared most of the dishes and it was actually recommended from the waitress for us to share 2-3 dishes, which was enough for the both of us to leave with our bellies full.

We ordered the following items:
-Bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits with maple butter ($6/2 pieces)
-Blistering Blue Lake Green Beans (with thai basil, chili sauce, crispy pork) -$10
-White Oak Grilled Skirt Steak (with broccolini, red chimichurri) -$19

The standout items were definitely the biscuits and skirt steak. Since neither of us like biscuits we were really close to not picking this item, but it was highly recommended and everyone around us were ordering it, so we gave it a shot and it was really good! The maple butter made it even tastier and it was so moist and not dry and bland as most biscuits usually are. The bits of bacon added the perfect amount of crunch as well! The skirt steak was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. We weren't a huge fan of the hot and sour chimichurri sauce but it definitely added a unique taste to the steak.

I'll definitely come back again to try more of the items, but I'll make sure to make reservations since we felt a bit rushed during our meal and this place is one of the most popular places to eat in the area!

Not good for big groups bc it's super loud and crowded. Best with just 2. Tapas style/great for sharing. Lots of seasonal dishes. They keep about half the tables for walk ins so don't be discouraged if you can't get a reservation.

What's cool about this place is that it used to be Manhattan Beach's Post Office, hence the name!

Everything here is tapas style, which means you get to share with your table. This is great because you get to try out different orders of food without getting too full.

The first order we got was the bacon cheddar biscuits. Honestly, at first glance, we didn't even want to order it because it looks dry. But we ended up getting it anyway, and it tastes better than it looks. It's not dry like I thought, and the maple butter made it better.

We also got the green beans. This was just okay in my opinion. I think I am just used to it being made Chinese style, and them trying to add a bit of Asian flare to it kind of throws off the taste.

The main entree was the skirt steak. I liked it but the it could do with a bit more flavoring. My friend didn't like the sauce on top, but I thought it was not bad.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. I like how they kept a lot of the original paint on the wall from when it was still a post office. Definitely a place to visit if you're in the area.

After day drinking you’re going to need to some food to soak up those suds. Take an Uber to Manhattan Beach’s only destination restaurant. Famed chef/owner David LeFevre’s actually calls his renovated postal office a “social house,” and it’s an apt description. There’s a playful mood bouncing off the wooden walls, from the laughter coming from the communal tables (another Passion Fruit mojito please) to the soulful artisan menu (bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits) designed to be shared over lively conversation even more craftbrews. If it’s a Sunday, this is “the” place to be so call ahead.

Parking: front with meters if you get lucky or a structure in the back of the restaurant also meter parking.

Rustic, wooden decor- def charm comes to mind.
Food was widely accepted- i looked under the "vegetable" section not knowing i could of ventured out !
Regardless a fan fave of the night were the
Broccoflower
Lemon, chili flake, parmesan- something about the mixture of lime, and chili flake really made the dish- we even ordered a second at the end of the night.

others that were good :
Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits
aple butter
Roasted Brussels Sprouts
mmental, hazelnuts, sage

Dessert was pretty darn delish:
The Elvis
A wonderful mess of chocolate pudding, peanut butter mousse, bacon brittle on the side.
Pudding and mousse didnt sound so appetizing but with candied banana's ..it was pretty close to perfection!

two drink i ordered:
Avila's Heir
Margarita w/ corralejo reposado, serrano, mandarin, yuzu- nice and spicy and just the way i like it!
Mil Mascaras
Pisco sour w/ macchu, horchata, cinnamon, watermelon, allspice- unfortunately we weren't able to finish it because a 9pm reservation was suppose to take ourtable.

So here is the reason why a 3 star was given, we were still in the mist of conversation and though our server were so very sweet- she decided to tell us a fib that a table at 9:15pm were suppose to be coming in. We loiter and chatted outside for a good 30 minutes and no one every showed up?
I don't think any of us had an experience like this happened where in mid dining we were suppose to leave?

Family style food and it was all very unique. Every day their menu changes slightly which makes it fun. Tried the pumpkin skillet cake (shown above), bacon cheddar biscuits, breakfast chimichanga, and a light yet delicious salad.

Oh my goodness ... what a great dining experience!!

I had heard so much about MB Post, and was afraid of an "over hyped" place. And went in with that possibility. How could so many people RAVE about a place? This lived up to it.

Next to impossible to get reservations, we finally got one! This was for the middle of the week (in the summer) so we were stoked. Open Table sent back that for reservations of over 5 people, you would be sat with others at a communal table. We were a reservation of 2, so figured no problem.

The place is great, very social and buzzing. Not too loud (as so many places are), with a great bar to enjoy a beverage while waiting to be seated.

EXCELLENT DISHES!!!
- Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits - What a way to start!!
- Brussel Sprouts - Amazing dish
- Corn Risotto - Stunning
- Flank steak with Chimichurri - so full of flavor with a bite!

We already made reservations in advance for out of town guests - and keeping them to blow them away!!

You can really see the passion Chef David LeFevre has for great food here. The menu is very seasonal with lots of influences from different cuisines. This place will get anyone with a love of food excited about trying the new dishes. Just remember, no meal here is complete without trying the Bacon-Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits.

Lovely place to have brunch by the beach! Enticed by the bacon cheddar biscuits and they did not disappoint. Truffle honey laced fried chicken was also yummy. The scene is lively and has a beach town vibe.

Great atmosphere + friendly staff. Make your ressies way in advance!

Bar :: Fun combination of mixology + old-fashioned bartenders. You know, the kind that just want to make a good drink and keep you smiling. Can eat + mingle there too.

Dining :: Foodies won't be disappointed here as the tapas-ish plates prepared with love and intended for sharing are constantly being changed. Of course there are popular dishes that are always on the menu. Start with the buttermilk biscuits and keep on truckin'. Interesting wine list that allows for discovery along with the food. Save room for dessert...trippy but fabulous.

3.5 stars. Manhattan Beach Post is a fun restaurant that took over the old Manhattan Beach post office, so there’s some fun wall décor that is left over from the post office. They also provide the menu in a small old-school manila folder, like a letter, which is a lot of fun. The chef is David LeFevre, who is a Michelin-star chef that also owns Water Grill. I visited Manhattan Beach post for brunch and found the chimichangato be only average. The steak was good, but too salty for my taste. The Elvis dessert (chocolate pudding, peanut butter mousse, and caramelized bananas) sounded really good too, but wasn’t anything special to me. The star of the brunch menu is the bacon cheddar biscuits. They are flavorful, buttery, and absolutely delicious. I really wanted to try their specialty Fee Fi Fo Fum fries too, but was told they would only be offered at 2PM when they converted to the dinner menu (we were there at 1:30PM). They asked us around 2:20PM after we were full if we still wanted the fries. I wish they could make exceptions or offer the fries all day long. All in all, the food was decent, but not spectacular as I expected, but the restaurant does have a fun atmosphere.

This place is in downtown Manhattan Beach so parking can be difficult. I would recommend making reservations. I came here for brunch with a friend. The place is very spacious and I was told that this used to be where the old post office was located hence the name. There's a couple communal table in the middle of the room. It also has a bar. Note that they have different menu for breakfast/brunch which is available until 2pm.
Now for the food. When we asked how big the serving were, we were told by our waiter to order two entree dishes each. DON'T! The servings are big enough to share. The must try is the Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits with Maple Butter. Very filling but not too heavy. We also tried the Chimichanga with spicy pork chorizo. This dish was just good. Then we had the steak and egg which was a bit too salty. For dessert we had the elvis. It's basically a bowl of chocolate pudding, peanut butter mousse and several thin sliced caramelized bananas. This dish was to sweet/rich for me. I wish it had more caramelized bananas.
Overall the meal was good, a bit pricey and the service was great.

First off, don't let the parking get you off the mood. It's street metered parking, but right in back of the restaurant is a parking structure which makes it so much more convenient. Just make sure you bring change with you, since credit cards parking meters are not available.

When I was here for drinks before, we sat at the communion table and it good if you come with a big group of people for drinks/

The food is amazing!! Anything on that menu is worth a try!
My favorite is the steak with sunny side up eggs and broccolini. It is DELICIOUS!
Every slice of meat you put in your mouth lets you tastes the ingredients that the chef prepared for you! No need for steak sauce as the steak is already marinated and well prepared. (mouth watering right now as I think of it.. lol) Although at $17, I highly recommend it. you won't taste this "flavor" anywhere else.

The bacon cheddar biscuits with maple butter is also a must order. But if you choose the eggs Benedict , the bacon Cheddar biscuits lays beneath your eggs Benedict's.

The chimmichangas was also a favorite of mine!
http://www.yelp.com/user…

The French toast didn't quite live up to our tastes buds.. lol
Too sweet and too soggy. Instead of bringing up the tastes, it brought it down.
http://www.yelp.com/user…

The citrus baby salads was very light and bland. The price is way over for this dish $14.75

Overall, the food is amazing and our service was beyond amazing! I've only been there a few times but I want to give a shout out to Nick, our waiter. During my second and third visits, I had Nick as our waiter. Weeks apart from my visits, this guy recognized me. He gave superb customer service and was very attentive though out our meals. (We now call him blue eye Nick at MBP. Such eye candy!!)

I can spend my brunch every weekend here and still be satisfied!!!
