An awesome Italian restaurant literally right next to the beach. Great for large birthday groups, great for families, and even great for just two people.

Came here with a large b-day group of 15 people and everything was so smooth and pretty fast service. Two words, GARLIC KNOTS. Pure addiction in your mouth and you better stop yourself or else you will be full before your meal comes. Portions are enormous here, very generous and great for sharing. Let's get more into the food:

Caesar Salad - Can't go wrong with this. It was solid!

Antipasti Salad - This was a winner and one of my favorites of the night. The thick slices of cheese served with it goes so well.

Rigatonni pasta w/ meat - HUGE portions good for like 3+ people. Tasty and meaty

Pesto pasta - HUGE portions again good for like 3+ people. It was a nice contrast with the rigatoni, so much flavor.

This firmly established Italian restaurant has been a mainstay in Venice and holds securely into this prime piece of real estate by the beach. Their portions are huge and, as a result, this place is always popular. I like to dine here mid week then take a stroll on the strand to walk off the calories!

Parking: parking on the beach can be expensive try to find some local street parking. Weekends is a zoo

Great Italian restaurant near Venice beach. It's got a pretty big space that spans two buildings, but the line still gets pretty long. Recommend making a reservation ahead of time. They serve complimentary fresh baked garlic knots every 20 minutes. They are delicious and addicting with a nice crunchy outside and soft steamy inside infused with a light garlic flavor. In addition they serve pretty much every Italian type of pasta known to man, as well as pappardelle pasta (a thick wide noodle) that I've never heard of. The portions of the main dishes are huge and delicious too.

This place has some of the best Italian food I have ever had! And their all you can eat garlic knots are deliciously deadly! I could honestly get full off eating those knots before my food came. Make sure you go in with a lot of self-control!

My buddy, Francis took me to C & O Trattoria, an Italian restaurant that offered the largest portions this side of Mars. Imagine eating a large bowl of Pho,except that it's full of pasta. Ready to embark on this family-style adventure,we lugged ourselves there, still full from the seafood extravaganza and ice cream bliss. Gluttony was starting to take its toll on us, but since we were troopers and heck, every time Francis and I hook up, we always indulge in culinary delights...just another day on the block. This place was so awesome. We sat outside on the patio under the heated lamps, with the environment resembling Little Italy, replete with Italian music playing in the background. Immediately upon seating, we were bombarded with free garlic rolls - not your normal baked bread, but specialy rolled garlic rolls seaped in garlic bits and olive oil. Delicious! I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese, and was literally shocked when the "Bowl" came. It was huge, resembling a bottomless pit. Already full from the previous "meals" and running late for my flight back to rainy Cupertino, I only ate part of the pasta, and packed the rest as my "companion" on the flight home. This is the ONLY time you see Stan Chan da "Garbage Compactor" Man take home, leftovers!

Italian at its best! Famous for their "killer garlic rolls" as many as you can eat - also provided when you're waiting for your table. Awesome chicken picatta and marsala!

Went here for a big birthday dinner on a Sunday, and had a great time overall. It's a local place with one off-shoot - think the mom n' pop version of Buca di Beppo - i.e., family style place with ginormous portions. While you wait, they ply you with $5.95/glass house red wine and their famous (or infamous) garlic knots. My friend polished off... 25 in one sitting. There were several other large groups there at the same time, all celebrating birthdays it seemed. The wait staff serenade the birthday guy or gal, and once a night, they hand out lyrics and try to get the entire restaurant to sing along to "That's Amore!" The only real negative was the fact that we were packed in like sardines on these strangely narrow, long tables. Waitstaff was very polite and efficient, and the food was hearty and tasty. We stuck with basics like calamari, caprese salad, fettucine alfredo, chicken parm, and penne arrabiata, and everything was well-received. It's not the best Italian you've had, but it's decent, and you're really there for the experience.

Fun outdoor dining, with traditional Italian food, close to the beach. Great for large groups. Make sure to sing along with all the cheesy songs!

I love the atmosphere here! The open air styled seating and the paintings on the wall making you feel like you are in Italy are so unique. The garlic bread knots are to die for, but don't fill up too quickly, because their pastas are pretty delicious as well. The plates are gargantuan and can be split between two people or taken home as leftovers. And lastly my favorite part of C&O's is when they blast "That's Amore", pass out the lyrics, and everyone in the restaurant chimes in to sing along with the waiters who are going around toasting everyone :)

Excellent if you're beaching it as 1/2 a block from sand and pier. Really good, large plates, casual and great prices. Go during the day and sit in the outdoor garden (gets packed at night with a line down the block). The free flowing garlic rolls are divine...

Good seafood and pasta, but the best thing there is the delicious garlic rolls! They are freshly made so they're always crispy. And the wait staff brings out a whole tray to fill each table with some more yummy goodness.

Garlic knots is what most people remember here. However, their pastas and house wine special is also super appealing here. Sit either in the courtyard or inside the restaurant. During the warmer days, definitely choose courtyard. In the evening, you might sing a long to Dean Martine while enjoying your dinner

This is a great open air, inexpensive Italian restaurant near the Venice Pier. They start your meal with tasty garlic bread knots and an offer of the honor system house chianti (they leave a bottle on the table, you tell them at the end of the meal how many glasses you drank). All the pastas are hearty and filling. We often come here for group dinners -- it's great for a birthday party if you don't want to saddle everyone with a huge birthday dinner bill at the end of the meal! It was also a popular pre-marathon destination for friends to carbo-load the night before running their 26.2 miles. They also hand out the lyrics to "That's Amore" and every now and then, the music will start up and everyone is expected to sing along (to be honest it's fun the first few times,...then I start being a party pooper and not singing along anymore).

Wow. This night was great.

Wednesday night for 2 is absolutely no wait, but still crowded enough to make it feel like the whole kitchen wasn't waiting on your order.

I had the Penne *something something* Fumo, which was even delicious as leftovers the next day. We shared a HUGE bottle of their own chianti wine served ourselves in our little plastic glasses, and their killer garlic rolls could stand on their own for dinner. I only ate about 1/3rd of my meal because food portions are so huge!

I give this 5 stars because 1) I think I had a little bit more wine that I expected, but fond memories, 2) food was savory, 3) i got to eat under the stars (how cool is that?!) 4) I had a really really great date to keep me company.

Apparently, they don't do their singing on the hour anymore (it's every 2 hours now), and we had to wait a couple of extra minutes after dinner to hear all the servers sing "mi amore". I wish I had the sheet music infront of me so I can sing along too!

Quantity trumps quality at this family-style trattoria. The atmosphere is casual and lively. The portions are huge. Is it the best Italian you will ever have? No, but its solid and good fun.
