The best time to visit Iran is in the spring (March to May) and early fall (September and October) when the weather is at its finest. However, it’s generally a good idea to avoid traveling during the country’s ... Read more
secular and religious holidays: namely the two weeks surrounding Nowruz (the Iranian New Year), the ten days before Ashura, and the month of Ramadan. By the time summer rolls around, hotel rates drop as temperatures rise, especially in the southern part of the country where temperatures can exceed 100 (38). Winters in Iran are also extreme with very cold weather in the northeast and west, though visitors will see substantial discounts on hotel prices.

I long to return. I was in Mashad back in 1978 it was a very exciting time to be in Iran, but tense as well. The city, the second largest in Iran positioned close to the Afghanistan and Turkmenistan borders is right at the cross-roads of the old Silk Road. The bazaar was very colorful and energetic. The highlight and must do is to visit the beautiful shrine to Iman Reza, (he the eighth Iman) this is a huge pilgrimage site. A special place - I hope so much to go back to again.

Mashhad can be called the religious capital of Iran and the capital of Iranian hearts. The presence of the shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him) is enough for this city. But there are some amusement parks, as well as beautiful cities and towns of Shandiz and Torqabeh, as well as the attractions of this city. Mashhad is also one of the economic poles. For example, there are many clothing stores in the city.
