If you want a chance to put on your little black dress or suit, this is the place to visit. The Crown Casino in Melbourne isn’t just a casino but a complete entertainment complex with restaurants, bars, boutiques and a fancy hotel. Every night there is a fire show along the boardwalk between the hotel and the Yarra River, called Fireballs, which happens every hour in the evening until midnight.
Inside the foyer of the casino, every 15 minutes there is also a colour and light display at its main water feature.

Poster boy for the regeneration of riverside Melbourne but I utterly loathe the place.

Why do you travel to Las Vegas or Macau to gamble? This is the perfect place in one of the best cities in the World. High class and huge Casino. Good restaurants and very nice ambient.

I actually haven't spent much time in the casino area itself but I love all the restaurants and activity that goes on here, one of my favourite places in the city at night. A bit on the pricy side but there are cheaper options as well for food. There are a couple of clubs upstairs that are ok, not the type of music I'm into but most people seem to enjoy it. It's really beautiful to sit outside along the river looking out over the city especially at night. There is also a cinema and a gamezone area for kids so people of all ages can enjoy themselves here.

The Crown Casino and Hotel is right near the Yarra River in Melbourne, next to the river promenade, with hits shopping and restaurants. This part of Melbourne reminds me a lot of downtown Chicago, with its tall buildings, river, and well organized layout.

The casino itself is not quite like the mega-casinos on the Las Vegas strip, but it is good sized and by no means a small operation. Table and card games are popular, and the local historical wager of One Ups is still popular. Last time I was here there was only 1 Craps table, a game that hasn't caught as well with Aussies due to its complex nature and learning cure, so you'll find at least 50% ex-Pats and US visitors hanging around the Dice. I and another American got quite lucky here a few years ago, turning hundreds into thousands, so this lone table will always be dear to me.

Wow wow what a hotel. Now this is what I call 'fancy pants'.

Being part of a Casino this is the flashy kind of 5-star, when compared to the more sedate Grand Hyatt and Langham.

This is 5-star all the way. The rooms are impeccable and swish. The service is highly professional. Everything you would expect in a five-star hotel is delivered.

The hotel is also in a handy location, the Casino complex has a lot of offer and Southbank is a short stroll to the CBD.

Highly recommend, although I take one star off it as it is a little over the top at times.

This place is alright. Pretty heavily commercialised and modern, guess it's good if you like that sort of thing and gambling. Best advice: don't gamble!

What a complex shops and spots... It's got tons of restaurants to eat and an entertaining and 'refreshingly cool' casino. Because of it's location, I found it a lifesaver on more than one occasion.

Next to the Yarra river and near the train station, it made it a nice stopping point for ending a daily adventure, or just about to start. While I wasn't a fan of the niteclubs in this area, it was great for everything else.
