dancing to the music you came for- everyone comes for the music. Every night is a party and every local wants to make sure you witness and enjoy the vibrant culture that lay before you; a mess of street vendors, performers and shops. From Elvis to B.B. King and Johnny Cash, the world looks to Memphis for musical pioneers, but Memphis looks to Beale Street.

Yeah, it's touristy as heck, but Beale Street is just charming! I much prefer the bars, clubs, and music venues here than in Nashville. A must-see if you are in the Memphis area.

The food at BB kings and the Blues Cafe was the best! The music was incredible! The clubs stay open until 5am. So much fun! Be sure to buy a 10.00 bracelet from a vendor so you can enter all the bars at no cover.

Beale Street can draw in a tough crowd some nights (someone was actually shot 30 yards from us one night), but it's an iconic party street that everyone needs to experience once.

Prepare your livers and stomachs! They'll certainly be put to work on the strip where Rock, Blues, and Neon meet. Grab yourself a Big Ass Beer and keep an eye out for the Beale Street Flippers! You might have seen them back hand springing their way to fame on America's Got Talent! If you're craving some Delta-Style Ribs, go to Blues City Cafe and ask for Edgar. He'll show you some true Southern Hospitality. If you're in party mode, queue up to get into The Twelve Bar (The balcony has the best view of Beale!), at the top of Jerry Lee Lewis' Honky Tonk and Café. If you change your mind, there's four other bars to choose from! If you're wanting to listen to some blues and bust a gut laughing, go see Barbara Blue perform at Silky O'Sullivans! They've got fresh Gulf Oysters and Diver Buckets (Secret Recipe). Don't waste your time asking what "Mysterious Zig Zig" is, just drink it! If you're up early (or still up... don't worry, we won't judge you) make your way to Miss Polly's Soul City Cafe and see Miss Sarah for breakfast. They have the best chicken biscuits that cure even the worst of hangovers!

This place was so much food. Great outdoor restaurant options. Live music almost in all locations. Good mini adventure.

We made a quick detour to Beale St on our way home. Even on a Sunday morning there were sketchy types lurking about. Not much was open this time of day, 10am. The smell of stale beer was thick in the air, probably a permanent situation. Loved the sites. We didn't get robbed.

Beale Street is famous World Wide for its Blues and Jazz. Great place to visit. Year round festivities here and no lack of fun.

Beale street was an overrated experience for me. Maybe it was because I want during the day, but i didn't have much fun. I did enjoy a few drinks from Wet Willie's and had fried pickles for the first time.

This is really hit or miss depending on what night it is. I recommend checking before hand to see what is going on the night you plan to visit. But certainly a must visit!!

I don't think we were on Beale Street during the height of events that can occur along this area, but it was still fun to be here and hang out with the various restaurants and sites to see.

B.B. King's, blues music, BBQ & local breweries....What else could you want while in Memphis? Pro tip: if it's not on the menu ask if they have Ghost Beer. It's brewed & bottled right here in Memphis.

YOu can't come to Memphis and not visit the Birthplace of the Blues, Beale Street. The best Music streaming form 10's of clubs, and really solid food, especially the BBQ at BB King's, believe it or not.
