This review is just for the grounds and the Madera lounge at Rosewood Sandhill. Rosewood Sandhill is such a lovely property with pretty views and pretty gardens to walk through! The pool is apparently heated to 82 degrees year round and if I ever get the chance to stay here over night, I would definitely check out that pool! The food at the Madera lounge is amazing too with the most wonderful wine selection. We had the short rib poutine there and it was so good!

Its a nice trendy upscale hotel, located inside is the bar called Madera. Nice trendy setting for a drink out on the patio after long day at work, while watching the sunset over the hills.

It's a fun place, especially on a Thursday night. It's a meat market crowd, and if that's what your cup of tea, this is your place.

Drinks are pricey, but the environment and eye-candy, are worth it!

Finally had a chance to check out the Rosewood Inn and was disappointed. The property is nice, but the type of clientele that evening attracts is not the most sophisticated. A little too much of a club party atmosphere for what is billed as a 5-star experience and it's very crowded. Drinks were very overpriced, there was no where to sit & they had no music. If you're itching to stop by, I would recommend afternoon lunch or dinner, but steer clear of the loud bar area. One positive feature is the beautiful views, which makes for a great spot to watch the sunset.

Rosewood Sand Hill is about as sceney as Silicon Valley gets. It's close proximity to many of the VC firms makes it likely that you'll bump into a tech titan or two at the bar.

This is definitely the place to be on a Thursday night if you want to meet and mingle with an older, richer crowd. The outside porch at the bar is known in the area as being a good area for his sort of activity. It is also insanely beautiful here, with gorgeous views of the hills in the background. The drinks are a tad pricey, but that's to be expected at a place like this.

The Rosewood is by far the nicest hotel in the Palo Alto area. It has spectacular views of the hills, a great bar, restaurant and pool area, and the service is top notch. Its in the middle of nowhere, though, near the VCs on Sand Hill but not much else, so don't expect to go out to dinner without a car. Thursday night is famous in Silicon Valley as 'cougar night' - though I am not sure it lives up to the Hype.

I had no idea this gorgeous hotel existed! I have never stayed here, but the grounds are beautiful. There is also a restaurant Madera that is part of the hotel. It is located off of 280 in the Palo Alto area.

On a sunny day, spend happy hour on their terrace with a drink and some small bites. Or if you prefer, hang out in their bar or library area next to the fireplace.

The most luxurious resort in Silicon Valley. Enjoy sweeping views of the hills to the west as you dine, lounge, swim or rest here. Top notch service and amenities.

My roommates from Stanford and I stayed here for our XXth reunion (I'll never tell ;). And it was PHENOMENAL. The grounds, the spa, pool, the food. Perfection. And apropos the area: flawlessly executed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Rosewood arrived on the scene in 2009 and has been making a splash in the palo alto hotel scene ever since. The pool, which has a great view of the mountains, is the focal point of the property. The central "library", located upstairs, is a great sitting room. Guest rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and provide travelers with a resort-like feel on the mid-peninsula. The restaurant, Madera, is also great and has made a name for itself separate from the hotel. Although it is located nicely at the foot of the coast range, to go into palo alto for food requires a car. Good destination for weddings or business travelers, though, as it is on Sand Hill road, worldwide capital of VC money.
