this palace around 1693. You can tour the palace every day from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and admire the colorful, detailed murals by Diego River, including “Epic of the Mexican People,” which traces 2,000 years of Mexican history into a single wall. The palace also features a small museum about the life of Benito Juárez, the five-term President of Mexico who made major reforms and resisted the French occupation during the Reform War and the Second Republic of Mexico.

Located in the Zocalo square, it is the seat of the federal executive in Mexico. Lots of riots and protests happens around this square and its often heavily guarded.

Come here to gaze upon Diego Rivera's incredible murals. These intricate massive paintings show the history of Mexico (both the good and the bad). A highlight of Mexico City that also happens to be free.
Getting a guide is recommended as there is so much going on in the murals context helps put it into perspective.

Much building material came from Palace of Moctezuma II which originally occupied this site. Present photo i.d. to view Diego Rivera murals in courtyard.
