Hotel is under construction. I rather stay again when it's finished. The rooms are spacious and the hotel staff is accommodating. Happy Hour and the pool are the highlights!

Right now they are remodeling the lobby and it’s noisy and paint fumes. My room has holes in the carpet here and there. Hopefully they will be remodeling the rooms. But with that said, great airport location, large rooms, free happy hour drinks and free delicious breakfast. I’d recommend booking after the remodel for a nice experience.

I have three words: Fancy, Tropical Fun. The first floor of this hotel is very impressive; it looks like a tropical paradise. The walls are decorated with murals depicting tropical plants and animals. There are chirping birds flying around, fountains over rocks, lakes with large gold fish and even a few bridges leading from one bar and restaurant to another. I've never seen anything like it. Kinda felt like Disney. There are see-through elevators going up and down. Kids will love this place; I saw a few enjoying themselves at the pool. The outdoor pool area is also resort-like with tiki huts, beach chairs and umbrellas. Bob Marley was playing in the background as guests sunbathed by the pool or had drinks at the outdoor cafe, everyone relaxing. The hotel would also be a fun spot for someone seeking an island theme for an event as it has Bimini, Havana, and Coconut ballrooms. They have free made to order breakfast every morning too.

Parking is a bit tricky upon entering with a slew of confusing directions and lots, which ultimately result in a $17-19 overnight stay. Walking into the hotel you're greeted by a HUGE, I mean huge indoor garden courtyard with waterfalls and parakeets and tables to dine or relax. It's an open floor plan inside about nine floors up which mean all flows have this indoor courtyard view. It's very posh for being an airport hotel but quite noisy outside with the plans flying overhead. The staff at the desk were extremely polite and caring which makes a stay in a new place all the more comforting. Once you're outside though, there is a lot of traffic and construction, which isn't easy on the eyes. But with a pool, restaurants, Starbucks coffee and a fitness center, there isn't much need to leave.

Talk about a diamond in the rough. I know they say don't judge a book by its cover, but it's particularly true of the Embassy Suites. Getting here was kind of a pain, honestly. South River Drive makes lots of windy turns and it's bumpy in parts and in need of much repair. When I finally got here, I thought I was standing outside some older apartment building. Nothing stood out.

But the minute I walked in, I thought I'd been transported to an entirely different place. My jaw nearly dropped at the huge, open, atrium, where the lobby begins and meets with the restaurant and cafe and seating areas. While standing at the front desk, I could see their glass elevators going up and down from across the way. I knew I wasn't in Kansas...er, that nether-region between Brownsville, Virginia Gardens, and airport territory anymore. Trust me, if you go here, you'll see what I mean.

Also, as the Suites name implies, all rooms are full two-room suites. Not much of a view, but they're comfortable, and really, you'll just want to stare into the atrium the whole time, anyway. PS. There's a really nice pool and jacuzzi area, too.

The area surrounding the Miami International Airport isn't known for its luxury — quite the opposite in fact — so I found the grand atmosphere of the Embassy Suites Hotel was quite welcoming and relieving. The suites are quite large, as is the immense lobby, an indoor tropical garden of sorts. With two restaurants on site, plus a pool, gym and business center — all larger and more well kept than you'd find at most hotels, especially those so close to the airport — I was quite impressed. The daily parking fee is a bit of pain, but even with that, were I passing through Miami for one night, I'd definitely pick this hotel for my layover.

This hotel was was beautiful. The lobby area had so much to look at; my eyes flitted around at the colorful tropical decor, the gorgeous furnishings and bustle of people coming and going. The lobby lets out into a stunning open-air atrium filled with tropical plants, koi ponds and even a bird cage holding cockatiels. Stepping into the atrium, I could see their Grille 305 restaurant, another small cafe that was closed at the time, and various meeting rooms named after areas in Miami. All the rooms are a two-room suite. One bedroom and then a living room space. This hotel is downright lovely. The large two-bedroom suites, big pool area and close-by attractions, like Jungle Island and Miami Seaquarium, make this perfect for families. The large meeting rooms and business center also make this great for business travelers.
