Minneapolis is pooled with over 20 lakes, most of which are surrounded by trails and parks, within its borders. Snow doesn’t shut down Minneapolis or the professional athletes, punks, university students and yuppies all co-existing and, more likely than not, cycling peacefully past each other on one of Minneapolis’ over 120 miles of bicycle paths.

Mall of America is great but don’t skip downtown if you like great restaurants and night life! Minnesota has incredible lakes with unlimited fishing, camping and resorts! Love love love

My hometown... I moved away roughly 20 years ago (1998); I came back for a visit 3 years ago (2014) - so much has changed!

I love Minneapolis and its close neighbor St.Paul! The museums and the historic buildings (like the Cathedral and the Capitol) are beautiful!

Perhaps winter isn't the time to visit. Friendly people but, with only a couple of exceptions, visually boring. The city can't seem to decide if the want to emphasize their history or Theo modernity. They have ended up with a hodgepodge that reflects neither.

Minneapolis has an amazing foodie scene, tons of theaters, and a load of outdoor adventures within an hour drive of downtown. One of my favorite towns in the US

For a northern city, Minneapolis is quite a city. It has a lot to do--from it's museums and shops and restaurants to its parks and recreation, and so much in between. Granted, there is probably little that you can find here that you can't also find in other large cities, so I don't know if I would travel to Minneapolis from other large metro areas, but if you're not from a large metro already, Minneapolis is a great place to come to see a lot in a short amount of time. Plus, you're close to other things in the Twin Cities such as Stillwater and Mall of America, plus Duluth and Rochester.

Minneapolis is a premier Midwestern town. It has a rich, eclectic downtown skyline and plenty of fun people who inhabit it.

The parks in this city are simply the tops- the uptown lakes especially cannot be beaten.

The foodie scene is a vibrant one, as well as the nightlife options.

It's a gorgeous city and well worth a visit.
