Missouri Vacations

Geographically, Missouri acts as the border between Eastern and Western United States. Historically, Missouri was the beginning of the Pony Express Trail and the Oregon Trail, two notable migration paths that started off key moments in western American history (check out the museum ode to the Pony Express in Saint Joseph.) Known as the “Show-Me ... Read more
State,” Missourians are reputed for their skepticism, an ironic reputation given that they have foretold the next President of the United States in every election except those of 1956 and 2008. With the state and national parks filled with rivers and trails, Missouri is undoubtedly an idyllic place for fishing and biking, preferably well after visiting the many wine and beer producers of the region. Be sure to make it to the capital of Saint Louis (and its iconic Gateway Arch) to sample some of the best BBQ in the nation.

temperatures average between 87 and 90 (30 and 32). During the summer, the state sometimes gets hit with the remnants of tropical systems in the Gulf Coast, causing heavy rainfall. In the winter, temperatures drop to the 40s and 50s, occasionally dipping below zero. Missouri also gets plenty of rain and snow, though snow typically melts away pretty quickly. Weather-wise, spring and autumn are the best times to visit, when temperatures are neither too hot nor too cold.
