The XO restaurant features two mezzanine levels with clustered alcoves that allow for private conversations. Elegant international-style breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served beneath ornate crystal chandeliers. Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is offered in public areas. Concierge services, valet parking, room service and reception are all available 24 hours per day. Newspapers and shoeshine service are also available. A business center offers two computers, fax, printing and scanning services. A bit of mystery shrouds the Hotel Le St. James hotel. The original documents that disclose the history of the building are sealed in a vault that will not be opened for 100 years, dating back from the time the owners purchased the property. In the late 1800s, the room that Le Spa now occupies served as a vault. It is now illuminated by candlelight and offers a relaxing sanctuary where seaweed wraps, vitamin-supplemented treatment masks and rain shower, Swedish and hot-stone massages are offered.

This historic hotel offers 61 guestrooms and suites distinguished with refurbished antiques and contemporary works of art. Beds are draped in Frette cotton pique sheets and topped with down comforters (bedspreads) and goose-down pillows. Wired and wireless, high-speed Internet access is available for a fee. Accommodations include flat-panel TVs with cable service, CD players, iPod docking stations, and minibars. Bathrooms feature scales, bathrobes and vanity mirrors. Rooms are stocked with delicately scented amenities from Penhaligon's of London.

Le St James is old world luxury and opulence at it's best. It's the type of place that you walk into and instantly feel a little more luxurious. Le St James has been known to frequently host a celebrity or two, so if you're prone to people watching, this might be the place for you. The building is a converted 19th century bank, right in the heart of Old Montreal. So in addition to luxury, you know you're experiencing a whole lot of history. If you're looking for something traditional and unwavering in its classiness then this is definitely the place where you'll find it.

Very nice hotel in an old renovated bank. Rooms were quite spacious.
Spa is in the old vault of the bank and is a fun place for a massage.
The library is a good place to have a drink with comfy chairs.

This hotel is located in the old port and is within walking distance to many of the old port attractions. Mick Jagger and Madonna have stayed here when they visit montreal. This is a great option if you want to experience Montreal.

The St. James Hotel on the most important street in the Montreal financial district, St. Jacques Street, was built back in the mid to late nineteenth century. It was origninally the Merchant Bank. It costs five grand to stay in this hotel for one day, and that is considerably over my modest budget. When I was in Montreal, Madonna had just been there and had stayed at the St. James. I know, big deal, and yes I feel the same way.

Beautiful building located in old Montreal. It is close to shops, historical Montreal as well as the financial district.
The hotels "XO le restaurant" is one of the highest rated hotels in Montreal.
A pleasure to see and an experience that is quite luxurious.

Classic old luxury hotel in the heart of Old Montreal. Very nicely appointed and comfortable rooms. Staff was hugely attentive! HIgh likelihood of celebrity sightings (we saw William Shatner).

Most luxurious hotel in Montreal, for sure... The restaurant downstairs, XO, is amazing too. If you're looking for action, this is not your spot but if you're looking for luxury and quiet, you need to hit this spot!

I was impressed. I think sometimes I should have been born in the earlier part of the 20th century, something about that classic style that is just appealing to me. First off, the place has a sitting room/library, and I don’t mean just a few books on the shelf, it’s a library that fits into the decor here just as easily as it would in a stately manner or in some old chateau in the south of France. When you walk up to the front desk, you not only appreciate how friendly the staff is, but the wall of keys, each decorated with a red tassel, and although a simple touch, it remains visually powerful and effective. The thing i like the most about the hotel is this, each room is unique and all of the furniture comes from the owners personal collection, amassed from his globetrotting travels. From the restaurant XO to the leather and oak board room, it all incorporates perfectly into the natural flow of the space and every aspect of the hotel seems to be well thought out and intentionally done to provide a sense of exclusivity and prestige.

Luxurious old-style charm. The rooms were elegant. I loved the tea room and spa was an old bank fault that been converted to an underground spa.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Great hotel. Great Location. A tad pricey, but definitely worth it.
