Weather

book your hotel or rental house far in advance since things fill up quickly. Heading here in the spring or fall can be much more peaceful, though the temperatures might be too cold for a swim. Swansboro, North Carolina

Another beautiful historic down about 40 minutes drive from cottage. Much larger than Swansboro with robust art community, good restaurants, antiques.

This is a great historical town dating to 1710 with many fantastic historical homes - great town to bike around to see it all. Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from too.
