Quarter it is doable. They have valet parking if you bring your own ride or the staff is happy to help find a taxi. There is a great park across the street if you need some time away. The rooms are your standard chain quality with nice beds, clean sheets and clean bathrooms. The pool area is a great spot to meet up with friends or co-workers for a drink or to cool off after a long day of conventions.

Great stay, the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the front counter guy (Victor)was kind of rude .

Once you figure out the main entrance is on Gaienne instead of facing the Convention Center, things get better and better. The hotel was once a big early-1900s cotton mill. The main floor, with lobby and dining area, is huge but furnished with comfortable chairs and small tables, and the 20-inch thick walls insulate you from all kinds of street noise. Then there are those yummy chocolate chip cookies on the front desk. There's quite a range of rooms and suites on offer - all generously sized, with high ceilings. Some units have the original warehouse windows, which are big and bright. For now the décor is historical/vintage, but there is an extensive renovation going on, which will bring modern furniture into half the units. I'm fine with the existing décor. It's lovely. Many of the beds are four-poster. The night manager is a lovely man who went out of his way to help. A marvelous hotel. Across the street from the Convention Center; the Outlet Mall is just a little further on. Lots of art galleries, restaurants, and bars nearby.

I didn’t know what to expect before going to this hotel, as Hampton Inns are typically pretty standard. This was a beautiful and unique Hampton Inn. I have a soft spot for old warehouses that were converted with style, while still preserving the original architecture of the place. There are two buildings that make up this hotel, one being more modern. I’d recommend staying in the original building for the high ceilings, exposed brick and huge windows. Most rooms have full kitchens too which are great for longer stays. The room was bigger than some apartments I’ve lived in. While the location is not great, it is close to the convention center if you are in town for business, and not too far of a walk from CBD/French Quarter. There’s also a nice pool and courtyard, which makes it a great place to just spend the day and nurse a New Orleans hangover.

This hotel was very good. My brothers and I stayed there back in 2002 before going on a cruise, and loved it. You are in walking distance to Riverwalk, as well as the casino that is in the area. The Convention Center is right across the street.
