the middle of the vibrant side of the French Quarter. Which is a pity, because it's really hard to leave the hotel itself. A rooftop pool and fitness center gives you more than enough height to gaze at a city mostly below sea level. Everything in this hotel exudes luxury, except it manages to not be too full of itself. The staff is incredibly professional and inviting, without being overbearing. The attached bar feels high end, yet approachable in a polo-and-blue-jeans way. Parking is a nightmare, as noted by another reviewer, by the Omni Royal has some spaces available for a fee. Do not plan on street parking--everything that appears to be an open spot is either reserved for the 8th district police station, or serves as a loading and unloading zone. At these prices, it's hard to go terribly wrong, but the Omni Royal takes it a step further, even for a luxury hotel.

Stayed here a couple of times over the years once on a corner room. The balconies are shared with people in neighboring rooms. Really pricey but great views and perfectly located for enjoying chaos. If you have trouble sleeping with a lot of noise you didn't drink enough. If you didn't come here to drink why did you choose a hotel on bourbon st.

If you're looking for the most luxurious hotel experience in New Orleans, this is it. This place is dripping with French decadence: statues, marble everything, chandeliers, antique furniture, velvet curtains and banquet rooms. In short, you can get a glimpse of what it was like to be French royalty at the turn of the century.

The pool is awesome: big, outdoors, with lots of seating. It is right in the heart of the French Quarter, with many street-facing balconies, so consider the noise if you are bringing children or coming for an event in the Quarter.

The hotel is a regular on the ghost tours, so if you want to stay in close proximity to the local spirits, you can't get closer than this. Ask the hotel staff and they will tell you of their personal experiences.

A tip: The Omni owns a few hotels in the area with nearly identical names, so make sure you are booking the "Omni Royal," and not the "Omni Royal Crescent" if you are planning your trip.

The experience of staying at the Omni Royal Orleans is worth the pretty penny, if you’re willing to spend it. It is truly a luxury hotel with a capital L. It is located in the heart of the French Quarter, yet in a quiet spot far enough off Bourbon Street that suits its character. It’s elegant, romantic, and historic in a very genuine way. The major highlight of this hotel is their impressive rooftop, which houses an outdoor pool, bar and indoor fitness center, all of which offers, dare I say, the best views in the city. This perspective is breathtaking. From the Mississippi River to the French Quarter hidden gems, you’re reminded why some of the greatest writers came here for inspiration. This is a stay where you definitely won’t feel like you missed out.

They offer different sized rooms, but the king size room is perfect for couples. There is not a lot of floor space in the room...but the bed is huge and that is where you want to be...not the floor. There is a jacuzzi on the rooftop, which is open in good weather. There is no pool but you can use the one at the other property. There is contract parking for $35 a day.

I stayed here with a well-heeled friend, and even she was pleased by the amenities. The lobby is golden, airy and inviting. The restaurant is typically decorated for a fine hotel; the breakfasts were lovely and the coffee strong. My favorite part was the rooftop pool. I felt like I had an exclusive view of the city from on high and could observe little moments happening all around. Street parking is difficult to find in the quarter, especially because most of nearby Conti is reserved for police vehicles, but otherwise the location is ideal; it's only steps to Jackson Square, to the galleries on Royal, and only a few more to Bourbon, if that's your thing.

Home of the VERY old Opera and St. Louis Hotel, as well as the world famous Rib Room. Try to stay on the top floor for the best views and easy access to the roof top pool and bar.
