ACME is a great place for oysters, a really great place. But if the line is excruciatingly long, don't hesitate to walk next door to Felix's.

Oysters! This was highly recommended to me by a NOLA pro and it didn’t disappoint! I left very full and happy :)

Ancient oyster house since old NOLA wasn't that old. Puts New York $1 oyster happy hours to shame with their fresh and cheap fare.

Excellent food!! The catfish was so fresh, taste nothing like the fish in Cleveland. Portions hearty, drinks very flavorful! Plan to visit here again, the next time I’m in New Orleans.

Get the Char-Grilled Oysters! The only reason not to get them is if you're allergic. Every bite is a pool piece of true love.

Fast friendly. This place was packed but another restaurant close by was empty and it was 12:30.

A dozen of fresh oysters for you to indulge in. One of the best places to go when visiting the French Quarter.

This is definitely one of the touristy spot, but it is worth it. Be sure to sit at the counter so you can see them in action.

Long line but worth the wait for just for their jambalaya! Their oysters rockefeller were pretty tasty too.

First full meal and it was awesome! Loved the seafood etouffee with side of fried crawfish tails. The char grilled oysters are a must try.

After being a bit disappointed with Felix's oysters across the street, I decided to swing by ACME today. The charbroiled oysters were great but the raw oysters were nothing to run home about. I'm not the biggest fan of fried seafood and that was basically what they had. They were out of the boiled seafood dish. I Ate the soft shell crab and the meat was good - but the batter overpowered it in my opinion. But remember - I'm not a big fan of fried seafood! I don't think waiting in line for ACME is worth it, but try it if you so happened to catch it with no line.

Do you want to eat awesome NOLA-style seafood (peel-and-eat shrimp, po-boys, and tons and tons of fresh-shucked oysters) while drinking an Abita beer (I prefer Turbodog) and sweating deliciously in the heat? This Quarter institution may well be your place then. It's a place I always visit at least once when I'm in town.

Don't mind the long tine as it moves quickly and it is well worth the way. Great oysters and quick service make this place a must visit on my list.

Crazy long ass line just to be seated...we waited a good hour.

Inside is super crowded and the servers did their best to be attentive with everyone.

Oysters:
raw- is great but nothing special about them
grilled oysters - yummmm eat them

A New Orleans icon that lives up to it's reputation. Absolutely incredible food. There is usually a line out the door, but it is well worth the wait. I'm generally a fan of raw ones, but the grilled oysters here are not to be missed. Heaven on a plate.

Pretty much one of the most popular restaurants that you'll find on Bourbon. This could be a tourist trap, but it could also be a food win. My take is that if you are going to travel 2000 miles, might as well not miss the party. A line outside comprised mostly of out-of-state Asians confirms that everyone is in the same mindset.

-=-Oysters: Raw and Chargrilled-=- My verdict? Get in line and wait. You'll be enjoying that beer while waiting in line anyway. Right across the street was a small bar so it was perfect. One thing is for sure, the oysters are hand picked to be enormous. They will not skimp you here. Raw oysters have no special flair, but it's all the same anyway....raw. Chargrilled was where it was at. If I could do it again, I'd get a double load of chargrilled oysters here. Buttery cheesy goodness in every bite. I don't think I've had a tastier oyster than here.

Acme has life-changing chargrilled oysters. I took my mother for some on her first-ever visit to New Orleans. She did not stop talking about them for the year between her visits, and when she returned, her greatest delight was introducing them to my father as if she had invented them herself. That's how possessive you get about these oysters. It may be less glamorous, but if you have a car and don't feel like standing in line, there's another location in the suburbs where the food is just as good and the wait comparatively painless.

An absolute favorite - after all, why come to New Orleans if you can't have fabulous seafood- the oysters are delicious any way you like them - raw, fried, grilled - and it's a festive environment - excellent service - the only problems - long waiting lines. Try to come at an "off peak" time to avoid waiting a long time for a table.

I really LOVE the food, especially the oysters at Acme. The lines can be long - so try to go at an "off" time, like early or late supper, otherwise you may have to wait a while. It's fresh and delicious seafood - and portions are generous.
