Description
This repurposing of the old railroad line running through the Meat Packing district of Manhattan has become an outdoor favorite for locals and tourists alike. With wood-planked floors and gratuitous ... Read more
landscaping, the High Line is a great place to escape the craziness of the city and enjoy a few quiet moments. If you love it, try visiting at night (or during the day, if you first visit at night) as the experience is wholly different. Because the park is yet-unfinished, new sections are constantly in the process of being opened-- be sure to visit frequently.

It’s a gorgeous and fast way to get throw the lower west side of Manhattan, when you’re heading downtown on the highline, definitely check out Chelsea market on your way!

It’s amazing, what used to be an old railroad track has been transformed into a park. I suggest you go when it’s a little warmer since it can get really windy up there

I don't think I could enjoy this as much for feeling more like prodded cattle than a person walking and hanging out with friends. It's very crowded...I happened to realize that our walk back uptown was less populated. It's a decent clean looking space if the grit of new york is bothersome.

The most fun place I have found to walk in the city yet. Starting in spring they offered great tours showing off spring ephemerals. Every time I go there are even more things blooming. The views are amazing and ever changing. There is a lot of great art along the high line to enjoy and photo ops are endless. Check the website for different events that are happening and you are sure to find something to your liking.

Its a lovely park and a good use of space, but there's no monitoring, so it's almost always overcrowded.

The High Line is the coolest little walkway/park above the busy streets. It’s sort of an above ground oasis for the concrete jungle below.

If you asked me to choose between a walk along the Highline and a walk through Central Park. The Highline wins each time. You can either enter from 34th close to the PA bus terminal or from the Whitney. I prefer to end at the Whitney as there are a lot of great eating options around there. There are plenty of places to buy an ice cream or a drink along the way in the spring and summer. In the winter it is still open but there won't be any vendors so take a hot drink with you.

Constantly expanding, this is a luxurious place to stroll, a trendy place to have your photo taken, and an ever growing spot to find excellent food and drinks. On days when the weather is not blisteringly hot, you'll find plenty of benches and trees to sit down and enjoy the views!

Fantastic spot located in an old rail line that runs through the heart of NYC.

A great free place to walk and admire the graffiti/street art.

Really cool idea, very different take on the concept of what a park should be. Check out the part nearest Chelsea Market.

It is very nice place. Lovely walk you can go from 14th street all the way to 34th street on the west side. It was an old railroad.

Went for a night time stroll through the high line of a winter's night, quiet ,calm ,peaceful . I'm sure it's not the same during the summer months but I really enjoyed being able to take a breath for a minute and relax

The Highline is one of my favorite destinations while in NYC. During the summer it is filled with an abundance of wildflowers - winters a chilly and calm. Any time of the year is the perfect time to visit the Highline.
