Other popular attractions include various stores, a seasonal outdoor farmers' market, restaurants, hotels, an Amtrak station, a ferry dock and the historic Heinold's First and Last Chance Saloon. The waterfront location makes it a family friendly place to visit and a wonderful place to dine and shop.

Jack London Square is a historic waterfront. It's a really nice place to take a stroll. There's several restaurants and bars in the area too, and easy parking.

Illy representing at Jack London Square. Many restaurants, bar/grills, coffee shops, Ice cream parlors, and little shops at this square. Parking isn't bad also at 1.75 for first hour and $1 every hour if i remember correctly.

Relaxing waterfront park and shopping center / marina. This is a fantastic spot to meet up for lunch or dinner - you'll have endless options for strolling or sipping once you've paid the bill.

Many famous restaurants on the edge of the Bay in Oakland, including Yoshi's Jazz Cabaret, hosting famous Jazz musicians, and many, many more fine restaurants.

Most weekends in the summer have outdoor entertainment, fairs and festivals.

Cool long walk along the dock side and multiple food outlets around. In close proximity of China Town and BART.

Great place to bring your family for the weekend. There are lots of restaurants to choose from. There are kayak and bike rentals, and a nice path along the marina. There aren't too much shade so wear a hat or put on some sunscreen!

I'm from South Bay and I rarely cross over to the other side of the peninsula to Oakland. As an "outsider" if you will, you hear lots of things about how ghetto and unsafe Oakland is. The Jack London Square area is actually really nice. It's like the equivalent of SF's Embarcadero. There are bars and restaurants in the area, even a bowling alley and bocce ball spot! If you want, you can rent kayaks or even a boat to go out on the bay.

I love this neighborhood so much I bought property here. It's walkable and there is always something going on. My commute into the city is less than half an hour. The restaurants are really great, and the views of the water and SF are stunning!

I've loved Jack London Square since I was a kid. The collection of restaurants, shops and bars makes it a great place to be in Oakland. At night, walking along the waterfront is a really romantic experience. I've seen some fun events thrown here, including a night where people can come and dance on a makeshift dance floor in the middle of the square.
