Not my scene at all, it was so difficult to walk around. If you don’t mind thick crowds then this will be no issue for you. Tons of food and shops to explore.

Osaka's Times Square, this neon-lit pedestrian is super touristy, but don't let that deter you from basking its neon glow. The area is full of shops, bars, restaurants, and all sorts of quirky landmarks - the running-man billboard and clown drummer. Enjoy it shamelessly!

Great spot with tons and tons of food. Street food and restaurants are the focus and it is always packed with locals and tourists. Try a little of a lot of the local flavor. Many places focus on crab and others on squid. Try the tacoyaki!⛩

Oh my gosh. Dōtonbori is such an exciting place to walk around! The neon lights stretch for blocks in ever direction and there is a constant energy of activity. This neighborhood is a shopping, dining and partying haven that never seems to sleep. And the amount of neon lights and video screens gives New York City's Time Square a run for its money!

A populous business street in Osaka that runs parallel with Dotonborigawa River. Both sides of the street are dense with famous restaurants, bars, and any other entertainments along with the sparkling various sizes of neon sign. One vibrant street that makes you forget how long time that you’ve been spending there even by merely walking. This is absolutely a place that you won’t miss during trip to Osaka because both local and tourist love it as well. Glico the Running Man giant sign which somehow becomes one of Osaka’s icons is displayed there.

No visit in Osaka is complete without a stop in Dotonbori. The atmosphere of the area changes drastically between night and day. During the day you’ll find families walking around, grabbing a few of Osaka’s popular street foods while shopping. At night it’s mainly trendsters who are out bar hopping and going to the many nightclubs in the area.

This area provides a lot of expensive stores, restaurants, and bars that make for a good night out. The river walk is decent but most of the good places are not located on the river.

Dotonbori is over the top! Think Times Square, Osaka style. There is so much to experience here. Restaurants, amusement areas, all kinds of shops, street vendors, comedians (performing in the street), movie theatres, Bunraku puppet theatres, nightlife, gaming, fugu (the infamous pufferfish), prostitutes (male and female), gigantic 3-D signage, lots of neon, promenades on either side of the canal and the 17th century Hozen-ji Temple. We visited on our own, then returned with a local tour guide and saw much we had missed the first time. Try to visit during the day and night, for full effect.

If you're new to Osaka, this is definitely the place to go! There are tons of shops, tons of restaurant, tons of this to see and do. In addition, it's also home to the famous huge neon Glico "running man" lights displayed over the river. You'd need weeks to try all the food places here, so enjoy as much of it as you possibly can!

I simply love this area - it is so happening! you can walk around, do some shopping and afterwards go for lunch or dinner in one of the restaurants (there are plenty to choose). Check out the official site: http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/location/regional/osaka/dotonbori.html

Speaking of Osaka! Dotonbori Shopping Street, a staple of sightseeing. Big crabs and crabs are funny. It is full of many restaurants and entertainment shops at noon. You can go to the stage of a comedy, eat or walk a B-class gourmet, go around a newly-made shopping mall, and enjoy endlessly! You can enjoy walking around the city while feeling full of liveliness!

It is a tourist destination representing Osaka. It is recommended if you take a picture that the popular name "Hikkake Bridge" with a signboard of Glico is famous. There are various shops along the riverside, but most of them are for foreign tourists, so it is recommended to walk to the place where you entered a little alley, or in the deep place you go to the miso. Basically, everything in Osaka is packed in Dotonbori, so if you go here you can enjoy the atmosphere of Osaka.
