Nice aquarium, with a beautiful and large tank with several whale sharks and large rays. Large variety of jellyfish in a wonderful setup to see their beauty. They also have a section where you can touch rays and sharks. Super polite and cheerful staff. Would love to go back and see again the next time I’m in Osaka.

Really large aquarium. You ride an escalator to the top then you walk down in a circular fashion to see all the exhibits with the large main pool as the main attraction

They have the world's largest fish at this aquarium--the WHALE SHARK! I love visiting aquariums, so when I was in Osaka and found out they had an aquarium, of course I had to make a visit! There's just something so mesmerizing when watching fish swim peacefully in its own element. This aquarium is beyond amazing, especially their massive whale shark exhibit, filled with tons of gallons of water. I could watch these gentle giants for hours because it is just so relaxing and it makes me feel like I'm in a whole other world! Must see if you're ever in Osaka!

I love aquariums and have visited many around the world and this rates as one of the best. Just don't go when schools out as it does get crowded.

The Osaka Kaiyukan is one of the largest aquariums in the world. If you go during the week be prepared to be surrounded by hundreds of students; Sundays are much more manageable. As you spiral around in this aquarium's unique layout, be sure to spend time watching the star of the aquarium: the resident whale shark.

This well-laid-out aquarium is one of the biggest in the world. You start at eighth floor (!) on the top and walk down the ramp, traveling through diverse habitat displays, including Aleutian Islands, Japan Forest, Seto Inland Sea, Japan Deeps and Great Barrier Reef, plus more. A current highlight is the whale shark in the Pacific Ocean tank. The building is very contemporary and bold from the outside.

I am not normally a big fan of aquariums, but for some reason, Osaka's aquarium does it for me. Located in the city's charmingly rough wharf area, there's enough variety here (pinnipeds, sharks, and all the other usual suspects) that it's well worth an hour or two of your time.

Brilliant. Has a stunningly big tank, with rays, sharks, a whale shark, around which you walk in a downward spiral, getting deeper. There are also penguins, other animals, a Sunfish (mambo) and a ferris wheel outside.

It's one of the best aquariums visited so far - as the lay out and interior design of the aquarium enabled many visitors to have a good view of whale shark, various types of sharks as well as mantas. The sea lions and dolphins are quite fun to observe too! they are just simply playful.

This is one of the largest aquariums in the world. Some may take only 30 mins but we took about 2-3 hours to slowly enjoy it.

A really good aquarium experience. The walk downwards around the main tank depicting the sea life of the Pacific ocean was particularly memorable.
