What do you get when you go visit the site of one of the world's most dangerous sports. The desire to fly.

Holmenkollen Ski Jump (and Museum) really is one of the most unique places I have ever visited. Entry to the Museum includes heading right up the top of the (via elevator thankfully) world famous jump.

Once you are up there you also get the option to zip line down if you choose (at an extra cost). This experience gives you the chance to pretend you jumped for yourself.

However even if you don't want to zip line it is worth the trip up just for the most incredible view you will ever see. It gives a breathe taking 360 degree view of Oslo and the surrounding landscape. Must visit on a beautiful day, as I can see how cloudy weather would put a dampen on the view.

If you are scared of heights then the museum provides you with some fun facts, cool films and an impressive look into the art of ski jumping.

Tickets cost 95.00 Norwegian Krona per adult and Children under 16 are 55.00 Norwegian Krona for entry to both the Jump Tower and the Museum.

This amazing place offers all kinds of things to see and enjoy; exhibitions dedicated to more than 4 thousand years of skiing, ski simulator and a beautiful panoramic view at the city from the tower.

Holmenkollbakken is a large ski jumping hill located at Holmenkollen, Oslo. It offers incredible views over Oslo and North towards the mountains and only takes 25 minutes by Metro from central Oslo. For those brave enough, you can take a zip wire down the ski jump!

A lot bigger than the popular ski jump in Lillehammer. It's the world's most modern ski jump

Check out the site of the 1952 Oslo Winter Olympics. The centerpiece is a huge ski jump and its terrifyingly steep landing platform. The Ski Museum is also located on the premises. The site offers fantastic views of the city and the islands of Oslofjord.

Ski jump originally built in 1892. Fun to go to the top and look down the jump.

It is the most modern ski monument in the world built in steel and concrete! The jump is a global landmark in ski jumping along with its annual ski jumping World Cup event. The Ski Museum onsite presents skiing history for the past 4000 years, and the ski tower offers perfect views of Oslo and the Oslofjord.

Eντυπωσιακό να το αντικρίζεις, και ολίγον τρομοκρατία επίσης αν αναλογιστείς το ύψος - ειδικά αν τολμήσεις να το κατέβεις κρεμασμένος απ' το zipline!
