deceased brother Ludwig. After that, he founded the Nobel Peace Prize to honor those who made positive contributions in the direction of world peace. Located in the center of Oslo, the Nobel Peace Center features a number of exhibits that tell you and your family about war and peace, the history of the prize, the latest winners and Alfred Nobel himself. Your children can enjoy the interactive multimedia presentations, including the electronic wall newspaper.

The permanent collection provides a pretty extensive multimedia overview of Peace Prize laureates’ life and works as well as that of Alfred Nobel. The temporary exhibitions explore themes relating to the prize, currently, there are exhibitions on wealth, the atomic bomb, and the meaning of home.

A nice fairly small place to stop buy. Though they had some kid exhibits, I would probably pass on this as there is a lot of reading/kid boring content here.

Even though Alfred Nobel is Swedish and the annual Nobel Prize ceremony happens in Stockholm, Nobel Peace Prize is selected by Norwegian Nobel Committee appointed by the Parliament of Norway. The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo City Hall each year.

Last year I visited the Nobel Center in Stockholm. The center in Oslo had a very similar set up but this location focuses specifically on highlighting the winners of the Peace Prize.

If you will learn all about the Nobel Peace Prize (why this is the only Nobel Prize awarded in Oslo) and Mr. Nobel you have to visit this exhibition.

Highly interactive and modern, the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo has a lot to offer anyone tech-savvy enough to find it. Although this was the spot my grandmother really wanted to visit in Oslo, I found myself getting more out of the exhibits than her.

This an interesting site to see since the main Nobel Prices are given in Stockholm. The peace prize is the only one given here and it is not really clear why that is and why Nobel included a peace prize. You can spend some time here but it is not very big.
