During the fall and winter months the Ouray Hot Springs Pool is open from 12pm to 9 pm on week-days, and 11 am to 9 pm on week-ends. Ouray’s public pool contains close to a million gallons of crystal clear natural hot springs water, free from the strong smell of sulfur typical of many hot springs. In addition to several soaking sections at a variety of temperatures ranging from 88 to 106 degrees, the pool has a lap swimming section, a large slide (slides are closed during the winter season), a shallow section for younger children and a game area for water volleyball.Daily rates to the Ouray Hot Springs Pool are $12 for adults all day, with discounts for children and seniors. Multi-punch cards are available, as well as season passes.

You get there by a slippery catwalk grafted onto the cliff face. The cutout is narrow with sheer rock walls glistening like glass. As you approach the waterfall the roar of water tumbling 80 feet down a series of rock shoots makes conversation impossible, so just stand there and marvel.

Don't leave Telluride without a visit to the end of the box canyon to see the Bridal Veil Falls, the historic power station and the old mining buildings. In summer it is a great walk or cycle along the river trail. The braver visitors with a 4 wheel drive may like to drive up to the power station on the old mining trail. There are some very good high altitude walks that start there. The scenery is spectacular!
