It may seem pricey but it's a unique experience. Plan to spend as much time as possible at the top, going on a hike, picnicking and exploring.

There are certainly some amazing views up top and even snow if you come in the winter. It can be a bit pricey to come up but I recommend coming after 4pm as prices are reduced a bit.

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Hike To Mt San Jacinto. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Hike to Mt San Jacinto is a great way to bag Southern California's second highest peak without putting in a huge effort. It's still a tough 11 mile hike, but it's nothing like climbing to Mt San Jacinto from Palm Springs or Idyllwild.

A neat way to explore the outdoors and escape the heat of Palm Springs. For only $25 you can ride from 2200 ft elevation to 8600 ft in under ten minutes! At the top is a beautiful scenic view of the Coachella Valley, some snow patches and some great hikes. Plenty of backpackers and climbers up there also!

This a fun trip for anyone who wants to have a wonderful view of the valley from high atop this mountain. In winter there is often snow that makes it fun for kids who want to slide or make snowballs. It is a lovely ride to the top with a restaurant there which is ok for lunch.

Take a death defying ride up the steepest tramway in North America. Breathtaking views of the valley below. Hiking trails extend miles into the woods. Bring a jacket in winter as it gets very cold.

Another must do adventure. The temperature difference is 40 degrees from bottom to top and quick tram ride. Great for the family.

By far the best views of the valley. Great hiking around the top. The ride up is pretty breathtaking as well. Pro Tip: go in the summer. Temperatures can be 20+ degrees cooler.

You travel from the desert floor up 10,800 ft to the top of Mount San Jacinto in 15 minutes! Spectacular views in a slow rotating tram giving you panoramic views of our desert floor and mountains. Taking it up during the Christmas holidays, while its snowing is simply magical! The tram restaurant, at the top makes for a fun date night, with its rustic lodge charm. This is a must see!

A spectacular gondola ascent from the desert floor of Coachella Valley to an alpine forest setting with hiking trails and restaurants. The gondola rotates twice during the ascent (one of only three in the world) giving riders a fantastic view of the valley and the surrounding mountains. Temps can change as much as 40 degrees at the top so bring a jacket

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—the world’s largest rotating tram car—travels over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon, transporting riders to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. During your approximately ten-minute journey, tram cars rotate slowly, offering picturesque and spectacular vistas of the valley floor below. Once you reach the Mountain Station—elevation 8,516 feet—enjoy two restaurants, observation decks, natural history museum, two documentary theaters, gift shop and over 50 miles of hiking trails.

Love going to the top of the tram. But be prepared, it is always 30 degrees cooler than Palm Springs. Great place to hike at the top and obviously to take in the views. Dont count on great food, it's OK at best.

Dress warmly as it can be cold at the top even on the hottest of days in the desert.

This is a fun experience to see views that are only seen from the tram. There are many hiking trails at the top and a huge temperature difference from the valley. In the winter you might be in snow, in the summer, you'll be in refreshing cool air. The restaurant at the top is marginal but fine for a cup of coffee or iced tea.

The greatest views of Coachella Valley are from the tram. Restaurants and a variety of hiking trails await. During the winter, there may be snow up there, so take a jacket!
