Lobby and dining areas were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. Location was great. The one let down was the room itself - it was tiny and had no outlets. The bathroom, however, was very nice. I expect a more comfortable room given the price and hotel rating.

I have a love/hate relationship with Hilton Paris Opera. Flush with HHonors points, I spent tens of thousands on a brief two night stay here. The location is good, right across the street from a local train station and a couple of blocks away from several large department stores and restaurants. My room was beautifully appointed and extremely spacious, with a huge shower and heated marble floors in the bathroom. The staff was friendly and the hotel's common areas absolutely gorgeous. The problem I had was with the windows in my room.
I was traveling in the shoulder season which means it's not that cold outside yet the hotel is still in winter mode and has the heat blaring. I was literally sitting in my room with sweat dripping all over. My room had two large windows (one that looked out on a gorgeous balcony) but they were latched shut, rendering the balcony unusable. Why would a hotel do that? What's more romantic than a private balcony in Paris?
Two calls down to the front desk and three employees later, it was determined that the window in the bedroom (the balcony one) was totally sealed shut couldn't be opened. This made for a VERY miserable and uncomfortably warm two nights with very little (and only restless) sleep. Luckily we were able to shimmy the bathroom window open a little bit (it still had a latch to prevent it from opening fully) for some relief, but our bedroom remained far too hot.
I would stay here again but only when the a/c is running or if I was guaranteed a room where the windows actually open wide. I was in misery from the heat. I am not exaggerating. It's a shame because this is such a gorgeous hotel.
As a Diamond member, I had access to the Executive Lounge, which was a real disappointment with this property. You'd think with such glamorous opulence elsewhere that the lounge would be first class. It's not. It's a too small room with lame snacks. Granted, I didn't come to Paris to eat hotel food but the breakfast in particular was borderline embarrassing. Store bought croissants, a few meats, cheeses, and lame juices that weren't worth the calories.

The bedrooms at this hotel are a bit standard and disappointing compared to the luxurious details of the lobby and salon only because I expected more after walking in to such a beautiful hotel. The bedsheets and the interior design of the rooms could use some embellishing! Aside from that, it's a central location right next to the busy Gare St. Lazare which has connections to practically every main metro station, dozens of trains and SNCF. If you're coming for a quick trip, this is an ideal choice. The area is always buzzing with people, there are restaurants nearby but they also have one at the hotel (no reductions if you're a guest though). Also plenty of banks just around the corner for those business travelers!

Built in 1889, the same year as the Eiffel Tower, the Hilton Paris Opéra is a beautiful hotel in the 8th arrondissement. It was set up to welcome guests for the Paris Exposition Universelle in 1900. The location, right by the Gare Saint-Lazare, is perfect for business travellers in transit, and the ornate lobby with a high ceiling and elaborate gold stylings will no doubt please enthusiasts of architecture and design. Taken over by Hilton last year, the rooms have been done up and are bright and comfortable though lacking in character given the beauty of the rest of the building. Despite the busy location rooms are reasonably quiet. I enjoyed the army of youthful, helpful staff on hand to help. This Hilton is ideally located for shoppers too - right by the Boulevard Haussmann with and its famous upmarket department stores Printemps and Galeries Lafayette!

This place does not feel like a Hilton corporate hotel. It is a beautiful old building in the process of being updated (2015), but still retains the feel of a grand old Paris hotel. I was here for work, and so was not focused on the location relative to tourists activities, but if this is an area you want to stay in, and a price range that works, I would recommend this place.

Nice hotel which is easily accessible to the metro, Paris Opera, etc. They have WiFi and all the basics, and the beds are comfortable although the room I had was a bit small.

Beautiful luxury hotel with a glorious lobby, very convenient to most amenities. The rooms could use updating, though, and mine was quite small. It's also right next to a rail station, so rooms on that side can be noisy. I think perhaps if you can afford an upgraded room you might avoid some of these problems.

Located next to St. Lazare train station. The neighborhood is quite busy and noisy, but fun for shopping if you're into department stores. The hotel feels a bit dated (some might say "classic"). Overall service is satisfactory.
