if you are this cafe, you are at a place important in Parisian history where great writers, Artists and thinkers gathered at this place. Must visit place and experience the street view while you Sip your coffee imagining this is where Pablo Picasso sipped his coffee too.

Cafe IS Paris. It is iconic. It doesn't matter what time of day it is, it is always the right time to go to Flore. Whether that is to stop in for breakfast, a cafe, or an aperitif, it is always a good time to go to Flore.

Don't expect great service here but it is worth the experience of a French cafe . Food is good and to the point but the highlight for sure are the croissants which are the best I have ever had !!

This review is purely for the chocolat chaud. A friend of mine had sent me a list of the alleged "Best Hot Chocolate in Paris". Of course, I had to take advantage and sample a few, Cafe de Flore is my favorite by far (and has permanently turned my nose up to any of the powder substitutes...blegh!)
The hot chocolate is served up in a small personal pitcher that comes out on a tray with a small cup. You can have approximately three of these cup-fuls from the pitcher. I want to say it costs about 8 Euros (may have increased since I've gone) so it's actually not too bad for the volume. Taste is rich and delightful...really the essence of a perfect hot chocolate.

Of the big Saint Germain des Pres spots, this is my least favorite. It has history but the food, location, and service aren't quite up to Les Deux Magots or Brasserie Lipp. The location on the street and the tourist hordes rob it of the relaxed environment at Magots. Brasserie Lipp wins on food but doesn't have the outdoor seating. Over priced and overrun but Café de Flore still has charm.

One of the oldest most prestigious coffeehouses in Paris, nearby in St Germain des Pres. It has a classic Art Deco interior of all-red seating, mahogany and mirrors.

The Cafe Flore drink. Good to sit back and people watch. Pretty limited menu for meals.

It's a really traditional and famous place, so really touristic. Would be silly to expect great food and cheap prices. I had a Salade Niçoise ( not good and really expensive) and some soup (was really good). Well, I still like the area a lot, to sit there and watch the people, but is not a place I would come back. Much better options in Paris.

I went by the famous cafe but it was very expensive and not all that impressive looking so I decided not to hang around. It seemed like a bit of an over rated tourist trap.

Cafe de Flore is a historic cafe in Paris with a large selection of drinks and cafe bites including croissants and sandwiches. A must visit for visitors seeking the ultimate cafe experience.

This cafe is quintessential Paris. My idea of the perfect meal : omelet and a glass of champagne at Flore, just sit outside at 10 o'clock at night, chatting the night away with new and old friends. Its just wonderful. You can just do that and go home satisfied.
I spent a Sunday afternoon here with a friend who had a thing for Hemmingway. We sat at the exact place at the bar where Hemmingway and his buds used to sit.
I made the mistake of asking our waitress if they served Italian wine... big no no!
Great place but pricey. Well worth the visit.

Yes it's an overpriced tourist trap, but I still love it and there's no better place to go for an after dinner espresso, or an after dinner Irish coffee--(the baileys is added table side).

Great classic French food

The hot chocolate is the only thing you need to get

Same as Les Deux Magots. Many famous people can be there.
