Sorbonne University still does a brisk trade in academics, while other attractions in the area include the Musee de Cluny.

Great Parisian neighborhood, filled with shops, restaurants and nightlife. It's right by Sorbonne University so it leans a bit young, making it lively and full of energy. Definitely an excellent area to stay in due to its central location to all the Parisian monuments and activities. That said, would prefer the neighboring St. Germain neighborhood for its charm and character over the Latin quarter.

I love the Latin quarter! Tendy, young, hip part of the city to shop, grab a bit and drink to eat. The market is fun to browse.

In the heart of the Le Quartier Latin, you will find yourself amongst some of the finest restaurants which have cheese fondues to hand and at a reasonable price. A perfect meal to have whist socialising with friends or family and the perfect excuse to try out an assortment of French cheeses. Du pain, du vin, du fromage; what more do you want from such a cheesy dish.

The Latin Quarter with its rich literary and artistic heritage is a short walk from Chez Claude. Enjoy a walk through the bustling streets to literally follow in the footsteps of great writers and artists, including Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce and Pablo Picasso, who came to Paris to create some of their greatest works.

I've stayed in this area a bunch of times, and it's got a great local feel to it. Very accessible by the metro and a lot to do.

The former student quarter and still the home to the Sorbonne. Spent some rather pleasant times wandering through here and sitting in cafes.

I loved the Latin Quarter. I definitely had a different feel when compared to the rest of the city yet you still had macaroon shops and traditional French food.

About a Z0-minute walk (one of the prettiest in the city, over the Seine, past Notre Dame...), or 4 stops on the métro, or 10 minutes on the 47 bus....

Immediately one of my favorite parts of the city! I love small streets with lots of options for eating. And because there are so many options the competition keeps prices down in this part of the city! They have all kinds of food from around the world so no matter what kind of mood you are in something is sure to please.

One of the most vibrant sections of the city. Great cafes if you can avoid the more touristy places.

This is were you will find all sorts of restaurants, all mixed together in a labyrinth of cultures and languages. A very bohemian place, close to the Sorbonne University.

The old Latin Quarters is the area nearby Sorbonne university and the homes of students and intellectuals for hundreds of years. Enjoy walking through the narrow streets, and partake of the many bistros and cafes.

I actually didn't make it here until maybe my 4th time in Paris. When I stumbled upon the Latin Quarter I found myself mesmerized by the lights and sounds. It is quintessentially Paris with the vintage feel that you see in movies. Stroll over to a bistro and be French, if only for the evening.

Way too many tourists to be really enjoyable but a must-see and there is a reason this neighborhood is completely overrun. I try to avoid now but for first time visitors this is a must.

Great to wonder around and people watch- the neighbourhood takes its name from the nearby Sorbonne Univ and its Latin students (not the sambas and mojitos!)

Take the 10 metro from Emile Zola or the 70 bus (my favorite) by Charlie Birdy's for direct access to the heart of the Latin Quarter.

Really like walking around this neighborhood. The number of stores and restaurants is tremendous. The place gets crowded during the summer but that just adds to the fun.

Many souvenirs shops. Small restaurants of all kinds (mediterranean cuisine)

Traffic lights for drivers in London are imperative; in Paris - they’re suggestive; in Rome - they’re decorative
