Convenient and new renovation make this a decent place to stay. Courteous staff.* edit to previous - cleaning staff is not as attentive We came back to a clogged shower drain after a day out. Not very welcoming and too tired to call to get it cleaned.

The lobby just got renovation but the room is quite old compared to the lobby. Overall the price is little high for what it pay for ?

One of the best things about this particular Hilton is the walking distance to downtown Pasadena. The Hilton has all the standard perks of the chain hotels — pool, fitness room, business center, etc. but there is also a Starbucks and deli for the attached office tower that spill into the common space. Rooms seem to be the most recently updated and they're smartly designed and some have a little balcony. There seems to have been a variety of makeovers over the years with the registration desk looking like the most recent. The 1970s-style touches include curious rattan light fixtures in the lobby bar/restaurant and a collection of lucite goblets on display by the elevators. Upcoming renovations could spruce up the sprawling lobby with a consistent look. With the Convention Center just a couple blocks aways attendees often book here.

If you like staying at Hilton Hotels, you will like staying at this one.
When I was there recently I noticed a lot of activity. It's a big hotel with many meeting rooms and a grand ballroom. Seemed to be geared very much to the business traveler.
It is in a good location, close to Old Town Pasadena and many sites of interest for all. Pasadena has some very good restaurants and staying here you are able to take advantage of many of them.
The lobby and lobby bar seemed to be typical for a Hilton - not much acknowledgement to the city you are in, but rather the hotel you are in. The lobby areas have free Wi-Fi, however the Wi-Fi in the guest room will come with a cost and so will parking, if you are traveling by car.
The guest rooms are typical for a Hilton Hotel - nicely sized, state of the art with comfortable surrounding and cozy bedding. All the rooms have been recently renovated in 2011-2012.
There is an out-door swimming pool that seemed a bit small for the size of this hotel - however it also felt private - unfortunately it was crowed when I went so I didn't stay - but the gym next to the pool was empty.
My favorite was the Starbucks stand off of the main lobby. Home away from home.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hilton in Pasadena sans the parking situation they have. Of course almost all LA hotels charge for parking so despite the nice price that we got for the weekend I almost felt like parking negated it all.

However, it was even worse when we were there since they were doing some construction to their parking to hotel areas so that you had to get it valeted. Although they charged the same price, I'm always uncomfortable when someone valets my car, any car, it almost doesn't matter. It's not a matter of trust, I just don't want random people driving around in my car for any number of minutes and/or distances ...

Regardless, check in was good, check out was easy, the rooms were clean, well kept, fully stocked with all the amenities. Towels were plush, everything was fresh smelling and the bed was VERY comfortable! The pillows were incredibly fluffy as well which is so awesome and such a change compared to those motels I've had to stay in for the past couple of weekends in places like Buttonwillow and Bakersfield.

I would definitely recommend the Hilton in Pasadena if you need a cheap place to stay as it is also relatively close to downtown LA.
