first Europané Bakery & Café was a dream realized for owner, Sumi Chang. As a nurse, Sumi spent her free time baking for her co-workers. Everyone loved what she baked and eventually she left nursing to study French pastry and baking techniques at Tante Marie in San Francisco, in France, the Beverly Hills Hotel and with Nancy Silverton at La Brea Bakery.

Sumi Chang's Euro Pane Bakery located in Colorado There is two location, one in own town which is much bigger and nicer interior. This one is the original location, which is smaller, and more pack. Like Sweet & Savory is own by Asian (Chinese or Taiwanese) bakery chef, they make bakery as closed as what the European quality and style.

ENVIRONMENT] 4/5

Simple interior with some artwork hanging in the wall, a bit small but do got a restroom. There is some tablet outside as well. So there is some room to dine here.

[FOOD] 4.5/5

MIxed Vegetable Quiche
Despite is more idea for breakfast, they microwave a bit to heat up, it still taste darn good. Full chucks of mix veggies and the egg and the side crust is done perfectly. Come with a free bread is soft.

Salted Caramel Macarons
First time I tried Maracons so got the one that is customer favorite. The first couple bite was very good experience, great texture and the flavor salted and caramel is yummy but about half way is just to overwhelming with sugars, too sweet for me, but I did manage to finish it.. I find out the reason why so sweet, because it lack sea salt to balance the sweet

[SERVICE] 2.75/5

Service was the weakest of the 4 elements, the maracons did not come had to ask the waitress and has to verity with the cashier, and the bread did not come with any butter also need to ask for it. Also no folks or knives were given despite I order the Quiche. The cashier was friendly.

[VALUE] 4/5

Price little bit high, but again this is busy district in Pasadena, quality is definite there, service need to improve, perhaps is a new staff that is inexperience. but overall is good value for what you get.

MY 2 CENTS

As someone who mostly eat Asian Bakery in SGV, this is good change. Despite higher price, you can the quality is there, would definite come back try different items. If you love Quiche, you definite need to come here.

The girl at the counter really pissed me off with her sarcasm but I love the Egg Salad sandwich so much that I still have to give them 4 stars. I am on a strict diet so I didn't get a chance to try their macarons but they look really appetizing. I will have to come back for those.

Let's go back to the sandwich. The opened face egg salad sandwich is awesome for so many reasons. They put a lot of perfectly cooked eggs (I'm guessing there's at least 6 eggs in each sandwich) with lettuce, tomato pesto and chives. The whole thing goes on a perfectly toasted bread of your choice. I chose multi grain and it was thin, crispy, and delicious. What really makes the sandwich amazing is the tomato pesto, giving it a great flavor, and the way that they cook their eggs. The eggs were not hardboiled but cooked to a soft, yet not runny, consistency.

My friends had the meatloaf sandwich and the turkey sandwich. The meatloaf sandwich looked amazing and according to my lucky friend enjoy it, the taste matches the appearance. The meatloaf was juicy and flavorful. Unfortunately my other friend did not like her turkey sandwich. They use pulled turkey meat off a real roasted turkey but the meat was too dry.

So the service is less than average but I would come back again for the egg sandwich. I also want to try the blueberry brioche that everyone is raving about but you have to go pretty early. They run out of it quickly. We got there right around noon and it was already all gone for the day.

I absolutely love coming here for the sea salt caramel macarons - can't get enough. The hazelnut and espresso macarons are delicious as well but nothing beats the sea salt caramel for me here. If you go past noon on a weekend, you'd better call in and ask to put some on hold under your name - otherwise they sell out!

Also delicious: open face egg salad sandwich on rosemary currant bread with sundried tomato basil spread. MMMMM

What a cute little spot to grab lunch! I first heard of Euro Pane from a friend who brought over some salted caramel macarons and have been wanting to check the place out.

They have 2 locations in Pasadena, this location is across the street from the Paseo Colorado shopping center which is a great place to park as well. They offer free 90 minute parking and have validations machines around the center (Macy's, Gelsons, and one at the top of the escalators leading to the parking garage).

Their salted caramel macarons are delicious. They are on the bigger side and costs $1.85 which is cheaper & bigger then Bottega Louie's macarons. I still think Bottega Louie's salted caramel macarons are the best but this one is a close second. For lunch I decided to try the Egg Salad Sandwich which seemed to be popular amongst the yelpers. Once I added a little salt and pepper it was perfect! The chunks of eggs were quite big, I believe they cut the egg into quarters so I did have to use a knife and fork. The bread it came on pretty much made the dish! I'm not sure what type it was but I loved it!

This is a very chill cafe, no servers, you order at the counter.

Drinks: Iced Latte, Gruyere Cheese Bread
Euro Pane has a pretty hot location on Colorado Blvd, right across the street from Paseo Colorado. I will often drop by when I go for my afternoon coffees. I know that this place's namesake is its breads, but I've taken a liking to their iced latte's. The iced lattes here have a smooth milky aftertaste which after that bitter coffee sip, puts the LA LA LA in LAtte. I'll have to try the food here one day, since practically every lunch hour, this place has literally every outdoor seat occupied.

NOTE: There are 2 Euro Panes on Colorado only a couple blocks away from each other?! This review is intended for the one closest to Paseo Colorado.

I have eaten at Euro Pane bakery several times now. Every time I go it seems to be very busy. During busy hours it may be difficult to find a table, but the food it definitely worth it. Yesterday I finally got to try their famous egg salad sandwich, which was on Food Network's Best Thing I Ever Ate. It was quite good and definitely one of their most popular dishes. On other occasions I have also ordered the Roast Beef sandwich and the Seared Ahi Salad. Both were very tasty. The Roast Beef was especially good and cooked just right, with a little pink. If you still have room after eating the delicious food make sure to try their macarons. They are very good. They have many different flavors. My favorite is the Sea Salt one. Make sure to come early, because often times they can run out of certain things.

I have been to both locations. They are both located on Colorado. This is the original location just east of Lake Ave. While they have a much newer location several blocks down, across the street from Paseo Colorado (near Los Robles). I noticed the the new location has a Weekend Menu which has things like French Toast and Eggs Benedict. I definitely want to try some of these options. They don't seem to be available at this location.

Delicious sandwiches and obscenely delicious pastries. The seating areas here are surprisingly lovely and well-decorated -- this is not just a bakery. This location is really convenient if you're attending something at the Pasadena Convention Center.
