This place is awesome for health conscious foodies. They offer a nice variety of healthy salads and entrees that are quiet delicious. I ordered their Southern Fried Chicken salad, a Mint Lemonade and a large oatmeal raisin cookie for dessert. Their salad was fresh, crispy and overall very good. The mint lemonade was refreshing and not too sour. Their cookie was perfectly textured and satisfied my sweet tooth at the end of my meal. I will definitely be back again to try their other healthy offerings.

Love Tender Greens! This location has ingredients that taste fresher than the Pasadena location, maybe because they're new. They also cut bigger slices of meat yay! The only down side is that seating is almost impossible during lunch time. For the amount of business they have they should've gotten a bigger space but I know that's difficult in the financial district. Other than that, I love me some backyard steak on a hot plate with roasted veggies and arugula salad or butter lettuce salad. Their roasted veggies must have crack in them because they always taste so damn good. You just can't go wrong with this combo. Their salt and pepper chicken is also delicious, just ask for dark meat and it'll be tender and juicy w/ just a slight crisp on the chicken skin. I also love how quick and efficient their ordering process is. You order at the beginning of the line then your food is ready by the time you reach the front to pay. So glad they opened in DTLA, it's perfect for lunch.

After an adventurous day in LA, I was starving. I had never been to a Tender Greens location so it was finally time to try it out.

There was a line when we arrived but it moved fast. The concept is similar to Chipotle but the menu is pared down quite a bit so it's simple to make your choice and move along.

After a quick glance I knew what I wanted - steak on baby spinach. As you move through the line, they prepare your meal and we found a table pretty quickly. Food was fantastic! Steak is medium rare and the baby spinach comes with hazelnuts and goat cheese. Everything was fresh and the meat was cooked just right. I devoured that meal within minutes and was very satisfied at the end.

The meal itself is about $10-11 but the portions are good so I can't complain.

I've been wanting to try Tender Greens for awhile because of all the high reviews this place has been getting, and also because people have been comparing it to Lemonade and rating this place even higher than Lemonade! I finally got a chance to see what the fuss was about when I came here for dinner with my roommates.

The menu is simple enough: big plates for $11 where you can have the choice of the main course on a sandwich, as a hot plate, or on a simple salad. There's also just the simple salad for $6, big salads for $11, comfort soups for $4, random desserts of the day and drinks. And they do have a chalkboard that advertises specials of the day, I believe.

While the menu is simple, I was still very confused! I couldn't pick what I wanted, so I ended up asking the cashier who recommended the fried chicken. I had that on a sandwich, but apparently the sandwich comes with a side salad. So I'm wondering if you get the meat on a simple salad, do you get ... more salad on the side? Or would it be cheaper? Anyway, it is cafeteria style so after ordering, you walk down where you can watch the chefs prepare your food and pay at the cash register. I heard rave reviews about the mint lemonade, so we each tried that.

So was the food very good? It was decent. I liked the romaine hearts side salad because of the parmesan cheese, but I really enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was juicy and the skin was lightly fried for a very good crunch. Every one of my roommates ordered the backyard marinated steak, and I ended up swapping half of the fried chicken for half of her steak sandwich. I think that steak sandwich was a let down compared to the fried chicken. There wasn't as much flavor, and didn't satisfy my hunger as well as the chicken. Not sure if it was because the sauce wasn't on point or something, but that steak was lackluster. I did enjoy the toasted ciabatta bread of the sandwich. One of my roommates had the steak on a hot plate that came with mashed potatoes and a salad. The few slices of meat didn't seem as fulfilling as it did on a sandwich, but that's just me.

The mint lemonade was nothing special. It was basically lemonade, but a little more sour than I'm used to. I couldn't taste the mint. Compared to Lemonade's lemonades, I would go for Lemonade. But I do like that they offer free refills. So at the end, one of the friendly workers offered to get us all refills and we asked if we could try their other drinks. Their agua fresca is seasonal, and right now it's pineapple. That agua fresca was so good. I wish I had gotten it! Instead I opted for the orange crème soda, which was white when it came out! But it tasted like an orangsicle, and wasn't bad. But I would definitely recommend their agua frescas.

The only downside to Tender Greens is that the price is a little too high for what you get. I think if the prices were knocked down about $2-$3, I would be more eager to return. As of now, it's more of a ... if I'm in the area type situation. You do have to find street parking and that can be a hassle, too.

tl;dr: a little pricey, but their fried chicken sandwich is bomb and so are the agua frescas!

The Tender Greens in Pasadena is insane during lunchtime. I waited in line for over 20 minutes and almost didn't have time to eat my food.

I like the concept of Tender Greens and enjoyed their salad. I tried their signature harvest salad and all ingredients were fresh and delicious. The only problem is that the portion is very small, especially for the price. I felt a little ripped off.

The ordering system is a huge mess. They didn't know which order belonged to whom and couldn't figure out whose sides, drinks, desserts they were. Everyone had to correct them at least twice on their order, including mine.

I had my order to go and there was forks or napkins in my bag. I had to go back and ask for it. I would probably avoid this place next time.

Large, hearty, delicious salads! Good variety too! I particularly love the vegan option with lots of different grains. Kind of pricey, but I usually eat half and am stuffed so I take the rest home for later, getting 2 meals out of it

I love coming here for a good salad. Yes, it's a pricier fancy salad, but I love that they're fresh and one portion feeds 2 people. I can never finish one on my own. My favorite is the Chipotle BBQ Chicken. The Thai Shrimp was intetesting, but not quite suited for my taste. I've also tried the Grilled Chicken Cobb and asked them to substitute the blue cheese for queso fresco instead.

The hot stuff from the grill isn't really worth it; you can get better elsewhere. The herb brushed albacore was overcooked and the chicken was too...

Tender Greens is a new health-conscious cafe in Pasadena that offers organic and locally sourced products with a focus on salads. I stopped by at a strange lunch hour - 4pm - and the place was still really busy, which was a good sign. The Thai shrimp salad was fantastic (you have to be a cilantro lover), the basil lemonade was very refreshing and tasty, and I loved the chocolate chip cookie I tried.
The setup is a bit cafeteria-like, but there's also an outside patio if you want to enjoy your food in the sun. They just incorporated a permanent art instillation by the graphic artist Chris Reccardi, and his paintings are really cool and give the restaurant a very hip, young vibe.

Wow!!! In the words of my 11yr own Yelpie ;) aka my son "Five stars all the way" seriously this Tender Greens is amazing. Part of me wondered if they are this fabulous every night of the week or if they just knew the possibility of having 100 Yelpers in for dinner is what constituted this sort of service. Whatever it was, thank you Tender Greens - you really put your Hollywood sister store to shame! This may very well have been the best casual dining experience I have had. The service was top notch all the way! This TGs is a lot smaller than the Hollywood location and run so much smoother, from the first to take your order to the cashier to the men on the floor - they were the very kindest, most attentive friendly employees. They asked several times if everything was ok, constantly refilled beverages and even gave to go beverages - c'mon seriously!?!?!?! The service was beyond excellent. While most of the diners may have been there for the Yelp deal before our show at the Playhouse, I did over hear some of the employees chatting with diners who must be "regulars" and it seems this may be the service all.of.the.time! Its not very often I'd chose Tender Greens over Settebello right next door but geez! These folks blow the customer service at the place next door out of the water. If you are in the Pasadena area, I would HIGHLY recommend stopping in here to grab a bite to eat. The iced green tea is the best ever! The bbq chicken chipotle salad is amaze as always - the mash potatoes are orgasmic, the steak sandwich on ciabatta is soooo tender and yummy, the soups are delish! the baked goods are tasty, you are in for a very very delightful treat :)

Everything feels overpriced here for what you are getting. The food feels tiny and it's not the best quality in the world. It's a health conscious store that I think makes the customer pay for that label. The fish is basically reheated on the grill. But it's cool that you get to see everything being prepared here. According to my friends, the other locations are much better.

PROS:
* You feel healthy
* Mac N Cheese is good
* Fast
* Lots of seating

CONS:
* Portions are small for the price
* Pricey
* The Mac N Cheese was good but SMALL for $5. It was a frozen yogurt cup size.
* Everything seemed premade
* Long lines

Overall... I felt like it was rip off for $22 worth of food.
I got the Mediterranean salad and added chicken and the chicken was dry and the salad was small and wasn't mixed well.
The Mac N Cheese was SMALL for the price. If it were $3, I'd get it but $5... Only because I could get it BIGGER someplace else.

Quality of the food was alright. I felt like you could get a bigger meal for maybe less at Saladish which is 5-6 blocks away. I was disappointed.
