crazy answer that didnt quite go with everything that I had scanned from tips while waiting for my buddy to show up here... They are not beer know it alls here... in fact they dont even appear to train the staff on all of the various draughts on hand here. However this place is much more than testing the servers beer knowledge. I am happy to have been here a couple of times and tried some various stuff from here. Pro Tip: Know what you want to drink, or search for it yourself. Unless you are unsure what you want whatsoever, or not someone who drinks anything but bud/coors/etc regularly... I did order a bit o grub on one of my treks and for that venture I had the bangers n mash. It was served with fresh or frozen peas and the whole meal was quite tasty. The bangers were about an 1"-1.5" wide and 4" or so long... The mash was super smooth and creamy. The peas were even tasty when mixed in with the mash. My buddy was happy with most of his meal as well. He isnt a fan of the peas but otherwise he was happy with his fish deal. As for the draughts, they have a lot of different ones. Mostly of the Belgian/Trappist style. The house brand is called craftsman and its not bad at all. I have found that they have some tasty stuff including some of the Belgian Strong Ales, Hef's, and so on... But as often happens at a place like this, they have no clue what a Kölsch Style Lager is. I absolutely love those. However when I realized that they did not know or have a clue what the differences were other than to say what was fruity or some basic nuances, it was up to me to delve into the short listings on their menu to find something tasty... In the end I was able to do so. I like the upstairs hangout and during good weather the exterior is awesome. Parts of the interior while warm in the winter/early spring, may be a bit stifling during the summer. If you are a soccer fan, this is a place for you to go to. I however am not much of a soccer fan... but if they have the "ice soccer" on, I am down anytime that I can make it... Gotta love the kings =) GKG!

Fun British pub in old town Pasadena. I shared the fish and chips which were pretty tasty, along with the buffalo cauliflower bites which were a fun take on buffalo wings. Generous portions.

The pub is small with a patio on the side and an upstairs area that can be reserved. Our group was in the upstairs area where Chelsea was our server. She was great! She learned our names and took everyone's orders after they perused the menu. I ordered a Blackthorn Cider ($5) and my friend ordered a soda. The place was still lively after the football game and only got more rowdy as the night went on. We only had about an hour on the meter so we didn't stay too long. They had Jeopardy on the speakers so that was pretty cool. It was great to see some of my LA friends who I hadn't seen in a while in such a cool setting. Lucky Baldwin's is a chill spot for food and beer.

Amazingly stumble upon this secret little find, that was tucked between a really nice residential area!

I really wanted to check out the beach, so we made a quick turn on Thalia st and load and behold there it was a nice little balcony where during the day time you can see what im assuming a beautiful view- sadly during the night its almost pitch black ..but the sound of the wave and the view of the city from a far was just breath taking!

There is a nice stair case that can lead you to the beach, but as mentioned during the night time there is hardly any light but the moonlight!

For their Sierra Madre location:

First time to Lucky Baldwin's this past Friday and I REALLY liked it. I am not normally anywhere near this area and I went here to meet up with a few friends for a couple of drinks. The area is really nice, comfy and cozy. A perfect neighborhood bar with a bunch of TV's playing sports. Friendly staff and a ton of beer on tap. We sat at the bar and I had two Oktoberfest Hefenweissen's. They serve food but I didn't try anything - not living in the area, I'm not exactly sure when I'll return but I certainly would not rule this place out. If you are looking for an awesome little bar in the this area, I would highly recommend this place. Wish there were more places like it. It wasn't too loud, no obnoxious folks, cool calm relaxed crowd around the 1030A - 12A time frame. Really enjoyed myself!!! There is also outdoor seating on a front patio. Women's restroom was also neat and tidy, that's always a plus at any bar.

What a great place to go to after a soccer game!

Our team tried their famous fish n chips and it was delicious. We asked one of our friends (from England) how authentic the food was and were surprised to hear that everything can be found in his native dwelling. The fish n chips came with a side of peas and a A-1 style sauce.

Even though the fish n chips was top notch, the real secret was the dish that my english friend ordered:

Mushroom Pie.

Here's my best attempt to describe it:

Take the crust of a spinach pie,
add pieces of cubed steak meat,
drizzle with dark brown mushroom sauce.

Every flaky piece tasted like heaven.

Go and try yourself!
