Wow!!! What a beautiful and simply magical place. I want to stay here and possibly live here. So, so lovely. Located in the historic Irvington district of NE Portland, it's truly a gem. The proprietors are also exceedingly gracious and welcoming and seemingly very excited and willing to provide history of this Victorian home and bed and breakfast. My favorite parts were the front porch swings and the decorated claw foot tubs! I loved it!!

This gorgeous bed and breakfast was built at the turn of the 20th century as the family home of a wealthy German brewery owner. It was later converted into a boarding house and, then, a B&B, although it still maintains much of its original period elegance. In fact, if you have a thing for Edwardian design, you probably won’t want to leave. Breakfast is included in the rate; vegan options are available upon request.

The ground floor has a double sitting room, which was once a separate ladies and men’s parlor (thankfully both are now open to all genders). There’s also an enormous dining room (where breakfast is served). There are rooms on both floors, all of which have elegant period furniture and private baths (some with claw foot tubs). One of the rooms has a separate, private-use bathroom. Wi-Fi is free and discounts are available for guests who don’t want breakfast or a full room clean on a daily basis.

For the traveler who prefers the intimacy of a B&B it is hard to imagine anything better.

Located within easy reach of downtown Portland, the Northeast Convention Center, and the Rose Quarter, this B&B oozes a character and charm that its ownership has tended well.

It is an "old" (1905) house with a lot of history that helps give character to the place. Its old fashioned warm quality furnishings sit easily with modern conveniences and accoutrements.
Each room has a unique motif, design, furnishings that fit well into the general atmosphere of the B&B. A continental breakfast is optional for $7 at this time of year, which is considerate of those people who prefer to find other arrangements.

The ownership was very courteous and showed me a lot of pride and enthusiasm for their creation, which is clearly demonstrated in their customer service. I imagine this B&B has a very satisfied and loyal customer base!

The statue lions lining the walkway and the wrap around porch of this grand Victorian style house sets it apart from any other house on the street- while the details inside provide for a truly historically charming bed and breakfast. The portraits of the original owners hang above the fireplace and watch you devour the uniqueness of this B&B like the men’s smoking room with pocket doors and newspapers spread on the coffee table to be read with a very large magnifying glass. The bedrooms are neat and cozy and they even have a masculine room if you’re over the usual floral rooms B&B’s usually provide. The backyard is romantic with its gazebo, vine laced fence, and petite white metal tables and chairs- it’s easy to see why they’ve had many weddings in the past. I loved the location and feel of this B&B, but if that isn’t enough, the all day snacks and public computer with Internet may help.
