Man, this place knows service! Lovely luxe boutique hotel in downtown Portland. If you happen to have a meeting at the convention center, do yourself a favor and stay here instead of whatever the attached hotel is. The 2 minute walk will transport you to a different mindspace at the end of a long day.

Locals aren't happy that this once Portland independently owned establishment is now gaining popularity based on the fact that many scenes from the movie "50 Shades of Grey" were filmed here. That aside its a nice place to stay in the heart of downtown.

Amazing hotel and pet family friendly but the topper is to have an amaretto sour in the bar and ask for the incredible and unforgettable amareno cherries by Toschi!

A surprised afternoon high tea delight was a good way to make a girlie day after a morning of strenuous walks and rainy weather over her shoulder.

Located in the Heathman Hotel next to a perfect fireplace and vintage decor was where we had our high tea. A tea pot to keep us warm and mini sandwiches to fill our stomach. Last but not least was their tasty dessert which we did not get a chance to finish everything so we had to take it with us.

Cozy, peaceful, and relaxing feel. A great nice charming hotel that served high tea during the afternoon. Will be back! Cheers!

People like The Heathman because it's an independently owned hotel that has a reputation for elegance. The rooms are small with dated head boards for the price, but come with fluffy white towels and some wine and wine glasses. What they're known for is their restaurant, library, and sophisticated common areas. The location near pioneer court house square makes it a place to do business. There's a little to-go coffee and chocolate shop off the entrance that's sweet, and it's on a street with ambiance and a little history. I think a couple of movies have included this street. The guests are a little older, but it might not be the best hotel for someone with mobility problems as guests take max if they come in from the airport and then walk the couple of blocks to the hotel, and then there is a little bank of stairs that need to be navigated with a lift etc. Expedia has rates the hotel doesn't have access to. This is a classic downtown hotel with friendly staff, but if you need to park a car over night, be ready to pay around $30 a night on top of the rate.

I felt like I was on the outside of an inside joke when I was greeted by the doormen of the the Heathman iin full “Beefeaters” uniform. Just like the British ones that adorn the London tower, these “guardians of the tower”, set the mood for the hotel’s Old English ambiance. The dark-wooded lobby is small, but leads to the tea room complete with an enormous chandelier- if a tea room with a chandelier isn’t English enough- they have live jazz music and complimentary wine tasting every week. The rooms are small but beautiful and inviting. The restaurant is busy with business travelers; eating and drinking in the restaurant as well as drinking and watching ESPN in the bar. The less overt pleasure seekers are in the library or sipping chocolate from their artisan chocolate shop, Cacao. The hotel has a prime location on Broadway in downtown Portland, where countless boutiques, restaurants, and activities are within walking distance.

This small hotel next to Portland’s Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall has a stylish lobby area, well-dressed staff, and an excellent onsite restaurant. There’s also a fitness center, free Wi-Fi, and 24-hour room service. However, the best thing about this place is the large lending library that contains an alleged 2000 autographed books. The rooms here are medium-sized with separate bathroom and sink areas. They’re decked out in warm colors although the furnishings aren’t quite as elegant as one would hope. The beds have weird sun shaped headboards that are one coat of gold spray paint away from looking like they belong on the set of a Louis XIV film. The check-in here is also a bit confusing (it consists of two small podiums rather than a proper reception desk), especially when there’s only one staff member and lots of guests.

Known as an iconic boutique hotel of Portland, the Heathman Hotel delivers everything the discerning guest would expect.

This hotel is probably the most famous, and maybe the oldest, of the boutique hotels in downtown Portland. Among the inner downtown hotels, all of whom are competitively priced, the Heathman is my pick of the boutique hotels.

Located in the heart of downtown Portland close to the main theatres, the Heathman Hotel is a wonderfully warm and hospitable place to stay with its appealing decor and calm atmosphere. For good measure there is a lending library with plenty of room to relax and read as well as meeting rooms on the mezzanine level.

There is a restaurant and bars, but my favorite spot when I was not by the lending library was in the tea court area.

The rooms are elegant, very comfortable and well appointed with modern conveniences, and room service.

Competitively priced, I don't think you could go wrong by choosing this hotel for its intimate unpretentious well managed luxury.
